Who needs DVD? Forget it. Star Wars, Attack of the Clones comes to an IMAX Theater near you this November First. Imagine seeing all that great action on a 40 x 70 foot or larger curved screen that fills up your field of vision and with sound to match. And it will be in digital format so it will look even more awesome. Now, see the Coruscant chase scene.
Isn't she just like so beautiful? She certainly has an exquisite face.

Very nice. In that shot of Anakin and Padme' during the sequence from where the above shots were taken, there's one shot where Padme' looks like she's in her 30's. Interesting because I don't know if it was the camera angle or lighting. And here she is at 14 or so in her first movie. Natalie Portman was discovered in a resturant I think. www.celebritywonder.com/cgi-bin/poster.cgi?71/039_38924.jpg=305937=10=8=Photo=

And yes, Natalie was discovered in a pizza parlour in NY for a modeling contract when she's 11. And Portman isn't her real last name, it's her grandmother's.

It's kind of exotic and at the same time like from some Elizabethian peroid. She'd be right at home in a Lord of the Rings type movie as a fairie or Princess.

That she is. But that begs a question. On Naboo, do you start out at the highest office, so as a child you are a Queen and when you reach your late teens and early 20's you are demoted to Senator? Then when you're 50 you're an office boy, and at 60 you go to college, the at 70 you're in mid and highschool and at 80 and 90 yeers old yew're a leetle baby kinnygardener.
On Naboo, do you regress as you get older? ;D

On Naboo, do you regress as you get older? LOL, no. I read in Vogue that after you're Queen, a Noan woman usually raises a family and gets a career "persuing the arts" or something like that. So, no. But this does asks if you actually regress biologically which is totally non-relevant to Star Wars.

its odd that padme never aged. how old was she when she was elected queen?

Hey, I know you. /\
Yes, George Lucas can write a great space fantasy but his love scenes need work. If you want to see serious chemistry between characters in a Star Wars movie, watch Empire Strikes Back. George didn't write that one. Everyone agree that the romance lines in AOTC were almost painful. "I'm in agony when I see you."
Natalie Portman as Padme was 14 when she was Queen. Now she is 19-20 thereabouts. She was 14 when The Phantom Menace was made so assume about two years to make the movie, then she was 16 or so when it was released in 1999. Now two-years later they start making AOTC and she's 17 and now she's 19 when AOTC is released in 2002.

alright thanx. yeah i know you too toxic. anywayz, anakin was 9 when he met padme who was 14. so he's now 19, and i believe she's 24. (because anakin says to obi-wan "i haven't seen her in 10 years"). i read up on starwars.com. ;D i'm curious to see what happens to padme in the later episodes. does she appear at all in the trilogy? also, where did the original episodes start? at episode 5 or 6? thanx! ~Monica

Yep, those are the character ages, not the true ages of the players.
<<i'm curious to see what happens to padme in the later episodes. does she appear at all in the trilogy?>>
Natalie Portman wasn't even around yet when the first Star Wars came out in 1977. Actually Padme' is in what called a "prequel." The Phantom Menace takes place before all the rest. Then AOTC, then whatever the next movie is called.
My guess is that since Anakin has to be pushed to the Dark Side, something really bad enough to freak him out has to happen. My guess is that Padme is killed off as well as Mace Windu (Samuel L. Jackson) but we already knew about Mace.
<<also, where did the original episodes start? at episode 5 or 6?>>
Actually it's Episode 4 when the whole thing started. 1977: Episode 4, A New Hope 1980: Episode 5, The Empire Strikes Back 1983: Episode 6, Return Of The Jedi
Then there was a lull where George wanted to spend time with his kids and he had a few other projects going. Then he started with the prequels.
1999: Episode 1, The Phantom Menace 2002: Episode 2, Attack Of The Cones 2004: Episode 3, ?

Ewan McGregor certainly looked a lot different than he did in the Phantom Menace. He's a very good actor, I think, though. Perfect for the role of Obi-Wan!
I agree...Portman is extremely beautiful. She has a lovely face.

Also....it really confuses me on how they did the movies is a weird order. Why did they do that? I don't get it.

/\ Well, you know after Ewan McGregor hit that rip in the Spacetime Continuum, he explored Moulin Rouge before the hole collapsed. ;D
Not sure why George Lucas did the movies in the order he did. Maybe he had the idea for the trilogy and did that first, then teased everyone with 6 more episodes, but he doesn't know if he'll live long enough to do 6. So he probably was going to do the 3 prequels, which leads to the Trilogy, then there would be another 3. Then again, he may have done the Trilogy first, then got the ideas for the Prequels later. Your guess is as good as mine.
