<<Who knows? Perhaps Lucas will make another trilogy before the Phantom Menace! >>
You never know. Syfo-Dyas wasn't that important a character, but you never know, there might be a video game out thereexplaining it all too.
<No, because Obi-wan says he had died earlier.> I meant information about him. Since he was the one who asked to build a clone army for the Republic. Like why he died and etc. >>
Might be in the SW website, but I couldn't find anything on him other than his commisioning the Lamas.
<<Perhaps, I was thinking that Lama Su never told him who it was for in the beginning.>>
That, or Syfo-Dyas never told the Lamas why he wanted the clone army.
<< Toxic? The Star Wars know-it-all didn't know that?! Maybe it's me, I watched Episode II too many times already. Like almost everyday last week. >>
Augh! You beat me! I've only seen it three times this summer. I'm going to have to go see again and I want to see the digital version.
<<Tatiana, I love that name. Is it that they identify similar sounding names to area? >>
Yep.
<<Is that what Lucas wanted so he made all the females in Naboo have an é ending? I mean whenever I hear -ov or -ski or -ana endings I immediately assume it's of Russian or Eastern European origin. Like you mentioned. :/>>
That's what I'm thinking. I do that with some of the stuff I write. On one planet, all female names are divided with a ' so it's Kah'liam or something like that.
<<I was also wondering this morning, do you happen to know who Kenobi's mother and father are?>>
I don't know myself, but if there;s anything about them they're in some deep dark archive omewhere that only George knows about.

<You never know. Syfo-Dyas wasn't that important a character, but you never know, there might be a video game out there explaining it all too.> I'm not into video games and such but if you ever come across more information, please note me. I'm very interested in this Sifo-Dyas. I wonder how he died.
<Might be in the SW website, but I couldn't find anything on him other than his commisioning the Lamas.> Same here.
<Augh! You beat me! I've only seen it three times this summer. I'm going to have to go see again and I want to see the digital version.> Well, someone gave my parents a bootleg copy of it. I wasn't impressed of the fact that it was incredibly unclear and some words were left out. When you watch it many times, you learn more about the plot. Even if that means you go into detail too much. And that's me. ;D
<That's what I'm thinking. I do that with some of the stuff I write. On one planet, all female names are divided with a ' so it's Kah'liam or something like that.> Interesting. And what planet is that?
<I don't know myself, but if there;s anything about them they're in some deep dark archive somewhere that only George knows about.> ;D You're right. But I wonder who his parents are anyways.
Oh, one more thing. I heard that in A New Hope, Kenobi dies but he is still able to communicate with his former Jedi and Luke. But when Windu and Amidala dies, can they also communicate with others?

Hey, that would be a great plot for Anakin's pain, turning him over to the Dark Side.

<Try this site: www.rec.arts.starwars.misc or go to the search bar and type RASSM, there's lots of discussions going on there.> Unfortunately, your link doesn't work.
<A Star Wars fanatic in the making, good for you! (((((HUG)))))> I have to say, it mainly Padme's wardrobe and those endless Jedi crushes that got me going.
<By the way, this is the most active thread on the Movie board.> Good job.
<I haven't named it yet but it's in the Andromeda Galaxy.> So it's your planet!
<I'm sure Mace Windu will, but if Amidala has the Force and we think she does, then I'm sure she'll be able to contact the living. Hey, that would be a great plot for Anakin's pain, turning him over to the Dark Side.> But where do they go after death? Is it their spirits that communicate with the living or them?

Sorry bout that, try this one: groups.google.com/groups?dq=&thread=25&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&group=rec.arts.sf.starwars.misc&start=25You'll have to register and all that but if you want you can do that and ask your questions about Syfo-Dyas. That link you gave me was great. << I have to say, it mainly Padme's wardrobe and those endless Jedi crushes that got me going. >> I'd say it's Padme' and the spacecraft designs for me. <<By the way, this is the most active thread on the Movie board.>Good job.>> And thank you too! <I haven't named it yet but it's in the Andromeda Galaxy.>So it's your planet! >> Yes, I have a whole universe myself made up, but based on fact. <<But where do they go after death? Is it their spirits that communicate with the living or them?>> It must be a spirit world close to the living. I think it is the spirits what communicate. You saw it in ANH, you can also see Senoir Obi-Wan in ESB and ROTJ.

<That link you gave me was great.> ;D
<I'd say it's Padme' and the spacecraft designs for me.> Well, yes. Before the new Trilogy, I was pretty much obsessed with Leia and Luke but I think Padme's wardrobe is so much better and the new Jedi are cuter.
<And thank you too!>
<Yes, I have a whole universe myself made up, but based on fact.> Based on culture? Like what Lucas did?
<It must be a spirit world close to the living. I think it is the spirits what communicate. You saw it in ANH, you can also see Senoir Obi-Wan in ESB and ROTJ.> So what does the spirit world look like? Like Naboo? And do the take the shape when they died forever? Or can they have any shape?

Not to mention young Obi-Wan ain't a bad singer while visitng the planet, Sr-Moulin Rouge Œ-Æ-7
<<Yes, I have a whole universe myself made up, but based on fact.>Based on culture? Like what Lucas did?>>
A little bit of culture, like pre mideival times. Or highly developed technologically. Lucas is more into some religious aspects and there are deeper things he explores than I do.
<<So what does the spirit world look like? Like Naboo? And do the take the shape when they died forever? Or can they have any shape? >>
They dont' show the spirit world of dead Jedi Knights. But they show them as they would have appeared normally. In ANH, you hear Ben Kenobi's voice. In ESB, you see a ghostly image of Obi Wan, encouraging Luke. and in ROTJ, you see the ghostly images. like holograms of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, but as a older man since he was Darth Vader and Luke's father, and you see Yoda who dies in ROTJ of old age. And I MEAN old age. "When 900 years old you reach, look as good, you will not."

<Not to mention young Obi-Wan ain't a bad singer while visitng the planet, Sr-Moulin Rouge Œ-Æ-7> Moulin Rouge is an excellent movie. Kenobi has well, such a powerful and romantic voice. I also remember my long-time crush Tristan dressing up as Kenobi too, the first day I saw him. ;D He had that braid style going on too--with a lightsaber!
<A little bit of culture, like pre medieval times. Or highly developed technologically. Lucas is more into some religious aspects and there are deeper things he explores than I do.> Do you mean to say, that your universe consists of medieval traditions mixed with technological developments? That is like Star Wars. But I do agree with you that Lucas perhaps is more focused on religious and perhaps political aspects also. He has a story going on after all.
<They don't show the spirit world of dead Jedi Knights. But they show them as they would have appeared normally. In ANH, you hear Ben Kenobi's voice. And I MEAN old age. "When 900 years old you reach, look as good, you will not."> So where do they go afterwards? I can't believe Yoda dies in Return of the Jedi. What type of species is he anyways? How long do they normally live? Yoda was killed by Darth Vader, correct?
I dare you to name all the planets of the galaxy--with the exception of Naboo, Coruscant, Tatooine, Geonosis and Alderaan. That's all I know.

<<Moulin Rouge is an excellent movie. <Yeah, the Force can do that to you.> Perhaps.
<I thinking about it, but it's been done so many times before, I'm looking for something fresh. Ever see the movie, Krull?> No, actually, I've never heard of it.
<That's why so many people are so into Star Wars, it's like the Bible, Lord of the Rings, all the myths and legends of different times and cultures. Some people seem more into it than even George. But that's because of the spin-off books. I read, The Bacta Wars recently. Bacta is like an antibiotic.> Bacta? Is that part of Star Wars? Anyways, Lord of the Rings is an excellent movie. I love all those ethereal, historic films. They usually beat those teen movies.
<It doesn't say, but I think they stay around for awhile.> Awhile or forever?
<Not sure of that either, the Star Wars databank does not specify.> Hmm...
<Not sure, but Yoda died lived for 900 years. Old age did him in.> I thought Vader killed him. ?
<Aldaraan . . . . . . . ANH--Destroyed by Death Star> Isn't that place the home of Organa?
<Yavin . . . . . . . . . . ANH-- Setting for the Battle of Yavin, the final battle in ANH> The place where Luke destroyed that thing before he and Solo were rewarded by Princess Leia?
<Hoth . . . . . . . . . . .ESB--Iceworld where Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Luke Skywalker's army are based, attacked by Imperial Military.> Oh yes. What Tauntauns? Did they die of pneumonia?
<Dagobah . . . . . . . ESB and ROTJ--Homeworld of Yoda, a swampy rainy world. Luke received his most intensive Jedi training from Yoda, there.> So I guess after the Clone Wars, Yoda goes back to Dagobah. Are there any others of Yoda's species there? Or is it simply a deserted world? I keep seeing Yoda rise a starfighter or something from the swamp. ?
<Tattooine . . . . . . . .TPM, AOTC, ANH, ESB, and ROTJ> Oh yes. The most visited planet. I guess.
<Dantooine . . . . . . . Quick mention in ANH, Princess Leia lies and says her base is on Dantooine, but the Grand Moff Tarkin (Peter Cushing) says it's too far away and has Alderaan destroyed anyway.> What? Who's Grand Moff Tarkin? And is it because Princess Leia lies so that guy destroys Alderaan? Hmmm...
<Naboo . . . . . . . . . TPM and AOTC> My favourite planet. Home of Amidala.
<Coruscant . . . . . TPM and AOTC> Just those two movies?
<Endor . . . . . . . . . (a moon) ROTJ--Second main battle to destroy a new Death Star being built. This is where you meet the Ewoks, little teddy bear looking people.> Do you have a picture of an Ewok? Is it at the very end of The Return of the Jedi? The forest?
<Corellia . . . . . . . . .Han Solo's Homeworld.> What does that look like?
I just seen a picture of Kenobi kissing Jango Fett. Off-screen, of course but in their costumes. ;D

<< Krull?><<No, actually, I've never heard of it.>> It's a space / mideival adventure. These aliens try to take over a planet that is still somewhat primitive. The men of auld, win with a magic blade. Not a bad movie but it's a little cheesy to look at. <<Bacta? Is that part of Star Wars?>> Yes, remember that scene in Empire Strikes Back when Luke is floating in that tank and the robot puts that plug to the tank and Luke is revived. The fluid in there is called "bacta." <<Anyways, Lord of the Rings is an excellent movie. I love all those ethereal, historic films. Yes, that's her home planet. <Yavin . . . . . . . . . . ANH-- Setting for the Battle of Yavin, the final battle in ANH> The place where Luke destroyed that thing before he and Solo were rewarded by Princess Leia? Right-eo. <Hoth . . . . . . . . . . .ESB--Iceworld where Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Luke Skywalker's army are based, attacked by Imperial Military.> Oh yes. What Tauntauns? Or is it simply a deserted world? I keep seeing Yoda rise a starfighter or something from the swamp. ? Yoda's probably the only one of his kind there. Yes, he raised Luke's X-Wing from the swamp. "I can't raise that, it's too big." "Always with you it can't be done. Judge me by my size do you? Hmm?" ((Raises ship)) "I don't believe it!" "That is why you fail." <Tattooine . . . . . . . .TPM, AOTC, ANH, ESB, and ROTJ> Oh yes. The most visited planet. I guess. Central to the Star Wars universe too I think. <Dantooine . . . . . . . Quick mention in ANH, Princess Leia lies and says her base is on Dantooine, but the Grand Moff Tarkin (Peter Cushing) says it's too far away and has Alderaan destroyed anyway.> Grand Moff Tarkin is like a king or president. Peter Cushing was delightfully evil. Alderaan was destroyed because Tarkin wanted to drive home the fact that the Death Star is a powerful weapon and the Rebel Alliance doesn't have a chance. <Naboo . . . . . . . . . TPM and AOTC> My favourite planet. Home of Amidala. The set is part city in Italy and some digital animation. The water falls? That's salt pouring out of the towers. Someone figured out that when salt is poured, it looks like a large water fall. <Coruscant . . . . . TPM and AOTC> Just those two movies? There's some reference to a planet of the Imperals in the original trilogy but they don't name it. Coruscant is mentioned alot in Star Wars books. <Endor . . . . . . . . . <Yes, remember that scene in Empire Strikes Back when Luke is floating in that tank and the robot puts that plug to the tank and Luke is revived. The fluid in there is called "bacta."> Is the bacta harmful? And didn't you mention something about Bacta Wars?
<Looking forward to the next one, Two Towers in November?> Coincidentally, I'm downloading the trailer at this very moment. I thought it opened in December? Around Christmas time?
<Aldaraan . . . . . . . ANH--Destroyed by Death Star> Isn't that place the home of Organa?
Yes, that's her home planet. And it gets destroyed. Hmmm...
<Dagobah . . . . . . ?
Yoda's probably the only one of his kind there. Yes, he raised Luke's X-Wing from the swamp.
"I can't raise that, it's too big." "Always with you it can't be done. Judge me by my size do you? Hmm?" ((Raises ship)) "I don't believe it!" "That is why you fail." That's sad. So when Yoda dies, there's no more of his kind.
<Tattooine . . . . . . . .TPM, AOTC, ANH, ESB, and ROTJ> Oh yes. The most visited planet. I guess.
Central to the Star Wars universe too I think. I get it now-- No Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker, No Star Wars. He's like the spine of the story. I guess that's why Tatooine is so critical.
<Dantooine . . . . . . . Quick mention in ANH, Princess Leia lies and says her base is on Dantooine, but the Grand Moff Tarkin (Peter Cushing) says it's too far away and has Alderaan destroyed anyway.>
Grand Moff Tarkin is like a king or president. Peter Cushing was delightfully evil. Alderaan was destroyed because Tarkin wanted to drive home the fact that the Death Star is a powerful weapon and the Rebel Alliance doesn't have a chance. Ruler of which planet? And I'm assuming the Rebel Alliance used to be the Republic, correct? And what exactly does the Death Star do?
<Naboo . . . . . . . . . TPM and AOTC> My favourite planet. Home of Amidala. The set is part city in Italy and some digital animation. The water falls? That's salt pouring out of the towers. Someone figured out that when salt is poured, it looks like a large water fall. Yes, I know it was filmed in Italy. Some place at Villa Biblionello (sp?) and some palace in Naples, I believe. It's an incredibly place, consider me going there in a few years. I can't believe they used salt, I thought the waterfalls were a real place. Or the could've just sat in a large meadow and added the rest later. I wonder if Naboo gets destroyed later. I definitely hope not.
<Coruscant . . . . . TPM and AOTC> Just those two movies?
There's some reference to a planet of the Imperals in the original trilogy but they don't name it. Coruscant is mentioned alot in Star Wars books. I thought since all the Jedi get their training done in Coruscant in a temple. But then again, when the dark side attacks, the Jedi order is destroyed. So all training is learned secretly.
Those ewoks look both cute and well, hideous. Are they good or bad?
<Corellia . . . . . . . . .Han Solo's Homeworld.> What does that look like?>>
They reference it a lot but don't talk about it much. Oh well. I heard Han Solo had a huge family, some of them went to become Jedis.
<What Natalie Portman ain't good enough?> ;D He kissed Jango on the cheeks! It wasn't like a lip-lock or anything! LOL
Ok, whenever I think of the planet in the prequel trilogy, I think of some places in the United States. For example... Naboo...Martha's Vineyard Coruscant...New York City Tatooine...some place in Colorado or perhaps, Phoenix, Arizona Kamino...*still thinking* Geonosis...Death Valley, California with the exception of those fly-es or whatever they are. Hoth...with the description you gave me, I think Alaska in the wintertime. That's all I can of at the moment. I'm off to enjoy my Lord of the Rings trailer.

<<It does sound a tad bit cheesy.>> And I mean aerosol cheese food. <<Is the bacta harmful? And didn't you mention something about Bacta Wars?>> I think bacta is like an antibiotic. The Bacta Wars are about two armies fighting over this stuff because it has such great medicinal value. <<Coincidentally, I'm downloading the trailer at this very moment. The Death Star is a huge space station about 100 miles in diameter. It has weapon than can destroy entire planets. << Naboo gets destroyed later. I definitely hope not.>> Never know. If the people of Naboo reach a military strength that threatens the Trade Federation. And if the Gungans get to be militarily strong. <Coruscant . . . . . TPM and AOTC> Just those two movies? Yes, now maybe it's in more of the books. <<Those ewoks look both cute and well, hideous. Are they good or bad?>> The Ewoks are good-- and bad. ;D Depends on whoe side they're on. You should see Return of the Jedi just to see how they meet people and when Princess Leia makes friends with one of them. They talk using a language based on one from Tibet and they make purring sounds like big kittens. I think you'd like them. <<Oh well. I heard Han Solo had a huge family, some of them went to become Jedis. >> Maybe. You should watch ESB because they show the love between Han Solo and Leia. <And I mean aerosol cheese food.> Those cheap cheesies.
<I think bacta is like an antibiotic. The Bacta Wars are about two armies fighting over this stuff because it has such great medicinal value.> When does this happen? Between which armies? Why don't they just share? Fighting over a medicine? Sounds a tad bit ridiculous.
<LOTR gotta love those ancronyms, opens in November. The DVD for Fellowship is on sale now.> No, it opens December 18th. I'm positive, I checked the official site this morning. I'm wondering, the middle movie of a trilogy is usually the most interesting. That goes for Star Wars too. Perhaps not the most interesting but the most violent and active.
<The Rebel Alliance were either part of the Republic and broke away or they were the Republic. The Trade Federation is now the Imperial Army.
The Death Star is a huge space station about 100 miles in diameter. It has weapon than can destroy entire planets.> Does the Trade Federation get destroyed in the end? Is there a new Republic? I guess that's the reason the Death Star is so powerful. Were there any machinery that were able to destroy planets in the past? Or was this a new invention?
<Never know. If the people of Naboo reach a military strength that threatens the Trade Federation. And if the Gungans get to be militarily strong.> I'm confused. If Naboo doesn't get mentioned in the original trilogy, wouldn't the Trade Federation defeat them in the first place?
<The Ewoks are good--and bad. Depends on whoe side they're on. You should see Return of the Jedi just to see how they meet people and when Princess Leia makes friends with one of them. They talk using a language based on one from Tibet and they make purring sounds like big kittens. I think you'd like them.> Another example of how Lucas uses culture in his films. Interesting. By the way, do you know what these blue creatures that look like elephants? Like mini, sitting elephants? Are those the Tauntauns? I'm confused.
<Maybe. You should watch ESB because they show the love between Han Solo and Leia. Now that director knew how to write tension into a love scene. It's continued in ROTJ.> Yes, now I remember in the Return of the Jedi there was this scene where Solo and Leia were kissing. That writer should've did the romance for Padme and Anakin.
<Whew!> What? You thought it was liplock?! ;D
<Is that hooked up to a pickup truck?> Thankfully, no. ;D
<Good calls on those planets resembling other places.> Well, if I did each of those planets internationally, it wouldn't be creative, wouldn't it?v
<Geonosis is a hard one since its mostly water, I'd guess Hawaii, or some South Sea Island.> I thought Geonosis was mainly desert?

<<When does this happen? Between which armies? Why don't they just share? Fighting over a medicine? Sounds a tad bit ridiculous.>> I dunno, ask Steven Sansweet, he wrote the book. <<No, it opens December 18th. I'm positive, I checked the official site this morning. I'm wondering, the middle movie of a trilogy is usually the most interesting. That goes for Star Wars too. Perhaps not the most interesting but the most violent and active.>> <<By the way, do you know what these blue creatures that look like elephants? Like mini, sitting elephants? Are those the Tauntauns? I'm confused.>> Ah, Max Rebo? www.starwars.com/databank/character/maxrebo/index_movie.htmlHmm, getting my genres mixed up. I can't wait for LOTR and AOTC to come out on DVD so I can watch it on my VCR since I don't have CATV. <<Does the Trade Federation get destroyed in the end? Is there a new Republic? I guess that's the reason the Death Star is so powerful. Were there any machinery that were able to destroy planets in the past? Or was this a new invention?>> You saw the plans for the Death Star near the end of AOTC. That's that sphere shaped thing that was projected on the walls of that cave. That's what that bug like alien with the tentacles hanging from his lips was talking about a "secret weapon." He showed it coing from a Plam PC looking thing then clapped it shut and left. The only ships the Trade Federation had before were those big bluish trangle shaped ships you saw lifting off at the end of AOTC. These are the beginning models of the Imperial Star Destroyers, mile long ships. <<I'm confused. If Naboo doesn't get mentioned in the original trilogy, wouldn't the Trade Federation defeat them in the first place?>> You could be right since Naboo isn't even mentioned in the original trilogy. Either Goerge didn't have any ideas for Naboo or he plans on destroying it, maybe with a partially built Death Star. "This fully operational battle station," as Emperor Palpatine says in ROTJ. <<Another example of how Lucas uses culture in his films. Interesting. By the way, do you know what these blue creatures that look like elephants? Like mini, sitting elephants? Are those the Tauntauns? I'm confused.>> My bad, I'm not sure what language the Ewoks is based on. I think it's Tibet, or it could be the Jawas that talk like that. At any rate you'd like both languages. <<Yes, now I remember in the Return of the Jedi there was this scene where Solo and Leia were kissing. That writer should've did the romance for Padme and Anakin. >> Was that the part where Han thought Leia was in love with Luke, the she tells him Luke is her brother? The Han Solo looks stunned then smiles when hes kissing her. <Whew!> What? You thought it was liplock?! >> I mean a heavy duty Stanley lock. <Is that hooked up to a pickup truck?> Thankfully, no. >> A trailer home, a house with wheels! <Geonosis is a hard one since its mostly water, I'd guess Hawaii, or some South Sea Island.> I thought Geonosis was mainly desert?>> Oops, my bad, mee'sa not awake this morning.
