<<Yes, Yes, Yes! Always is. So you liked it I see. Natalie Portman looks great right?>> She looked absolutely beautiful. Although I didn't know her senate gown was sequined. And Padme's river dress enlarged... Btw, was there a family scene originally that was cut out?
<<Weren't those Sonic Charges cool? I liked the silence when they detonated then that blue blast wave slicing through the asteroids.>> The silence is what scared me. It's like complete silence then a huge boom.
<<I also like the Slave 1 (Jengo and Boba Fett's ship) being put through it's paces. Wasn't Obi-Wan's ship cool? The way the module detaches from the main engine ring.>> Slave 1 is a ship? Anyway, what was that engine ring thing? I loved the scene when they first show Obi-Wan's ring thing and then he comes out with the ship
<<Go see it again! I liked the way that chase started when Obi-Wan jumped out the window and grabbed onto that flying droid. The lines were funny.
"What took you so long?" "I had to find one I liked."
"We're here to save you." "Good job."
"I have to save Padme'." "I think she's on top of it.">> Unfortunately, I think they stop playing Star Wars in all theatres near me at the end of July. Too bad I really wanted to see the Coruscant chase scene again. yes, the lines were funny. I liked the baby Jedi. So adorable.
<<What did you think of the arena scene, and the big battle? Padme' fights good, eh? That's why I think she has the Force too. And of course, Yoda dueling with Count Dooku.>> the force? Yes, Yoda rocked. ;D Btw, remember they were still at Tattooine and on the ship, Padme presses a button that transmits the message to Coruscant, then she presses the same button and shows the location of Geonosis. What's with that?

<< Although I didn't know her senate gown was sequined. And Padme's river dress enlarged... >> I didn't either. <<Btw, was there a family scene originally that was cut out?>> Not sure, I'll have to find out. <<The silence is what scared me. It's like complete silence then a huge boom.>> That's what I liked about it. <<Slave 1 is a ship?>> Yes, it's that ship that sort of looks like an iron, probably where they got the idea for the design. That's how I design my ships. <<Anyway, what was that engine ring thing? I loved the scene when they first show Obi-Wan's ring thing and then he comes out with the ship>> That was the main drive unit for Obi-Wan's ship. The part he's in detaches so he can go into tighter areas and it makes the ship more maneuverable. <<Unfortunately, I think they stop playing Star Wars in all theatres near me at the end of July.>> Blame that on the movie glut caused by 9-11. Too many movies coming out all at once that were supposed to be released last year. EP II might hit the theaters again after a few months, they did that with EP I. <<Too bad I really wanted to see the Coruscant chase scene again. yes, the lines were funny. I liked the baby Jedi. So adorable.>> You just might, then on to DVD. <<Btw, remember they were still at Tattooine and on the ship, Padme presses a button that transmits the message to Coruscant, then she presses the same button and shows the location of Geonosis. What's with that? >> Multi-function buttons. I would think that these ships have star charts and maps programmed into the navigational computers of the ships. Padme' called up one of the star charts to look at where Obi-Wan went. Did the opening scene of EP II freak you out a bit? When the Decoy's ship exploded. That was a beautiful ship, sort of a cross between a WWII bomber and a Stealth bomber. The sound it made was awesome too. Sometimes I wonder why Padme' always takes a chrome ship with her, she never gets to ride in it. Those things are expensive!

<<Not sure, I'll have to find out.>> Accordingly, I heard there was also a longer version of the meadow scene, Dooku using two sabers (btw, does he have a curved saber?) and Obi-Wan being attacked by something...else...
<<Yes, it's that ship that sort of looks like an iron, probably where they got the idea for the design. That's how I design my ships.>> oh, an iron? You design ships?
<<That was the main drive unit for Obi-Wan's ship. The part he's in detaches so he can go into tighter areas and it makes the ship more maneuverable.>> but what does the ring do anyway? I mean he could've just come without the ring.
<<Blame that on the movie glut caused by 9-11. Too many movies coming out all at once that were supposed to be released last year. EP II might hit the theaters again after a few months, they did that with EP I.>> great... *sigh*
<<You just might, then on to DVD.>> DVD's not good enough, I mean, I want a HUGE screen, and an incredibly loud sound system (like in the theatres)
<<Multi-function buttons. I would think that these ships have star charts and maps programmed into the navigational computers of the ships. Padme' called up one of the star charts to look at where Obi-Wan went.>> oh, multi-function, I thought it was blooper. ;D
<<Did the opening scene of EP II freak you out a bit? When the Decoy's ship exploded.>> not really, I knew it was going to happen. Spoilers. ;D I'm not the waiting type. <<That was a beautiful ship, sort of a cross between a WWII bomber and a Stealth bomber. The sound it made was awesome too.>> I thought it was beautiful. Silvery colour.
<<Sometimes I wonder why Padme' always takes a chrome ship with her, she never gets to ride in it. Those things are expensive!>> perhaps a decoy has to ride in it, in case of explosions. Like what happened.

There was probably a longer version of the meadow scene, but I don't think people would have sat still for it. I thought AOTC had alot more action than TPM. Dooku may have had a curved light sabre, but it probably didn't look right so it wound up on the cutting room floor. <<oh, an iron? You design ships?>> I like to design spaceships of my own and I built a large model of what would be the back. It has 100 watt quartz lights for the main engines, and smaller bulbs for thrusters. There's a string of Christmas lights through it and it's designed to have fog smoke blow through it. It could be a fire hazard with all the lights in it, but I have six cooling fans in this thing, it SOUNDS like a ship. I used model parts and other junk. A model car strut makes a great spacecraft part. A disposable camera makes a good gun turret. I also draw ships based on Star Wars stuff and Air Force jets. <<but what does the ring do anyway? I mean he could've just come without the ring.>> Nope, the ring is a module with the main engines attatched, and probably the hyperdrive in there too. The ship detaches so Obi-Wan can go to the surface of a planet or out run an enemy in tight places like an asteroid field. It would be like you riding your bike and lugging your bedroom around. <<DVD's not good enough, I mean, I want a HUGE screen, and an incredibly loud sound system (like in the theatres) >> Turn it up! <<oh, multi-function, I thought it was blooper. >> Like the time Luke comes back from destroying the Death Star in A New Hope and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) runs up to him and Luke shouts, "Carrie!" <<not really, I knew it was going to happen. Spoilers. I'm not the waiting type. >> That takes the fun out of it. <<perhaps a decoy has to ride in it, in case of explosions. Like what happened.>> That's true, but I'd still want my OWN chrome ship and not those cramped Naboo fighters.

^^^And what about the chrome ship when they landed on Tatooine?! By the way, I love the giant pigs in Ep II the ones Anakin was riding on. Let's see. I STILL do not know who Master Sy-Phadeus (sp?) is.

^^^And what about the chrome ship when they landed on Tatooine?! >> Ah, the Queen's yacht, here ya go. www.starwars.com/databank/starship/nabooyacht/index.htmlClick on the image for a larger picture. By the way, in Africa, you know there's a country called Tunisia. There is a city there called, you guessed it, "Tatouine." Sound familiar? <<By the way, I love the giant pigs in Ep II the ones Anakin was riding on. >> Hmm, I thought of them more as cows. At any rate, they're called Shaaks. Must be the feeling when they step on your toes. www.starwars.com/databank/creature/shaak/index_movie.html<<Let's see. I STILL do not know who Master Sy-Phadeus (sp?) is. >> Hmm, not familiar with the name. Is it possibly Master Sideous? Here are those other names. Oh yes, thank you. Now I remember it was a yacht. But why do they give it such an odd name? A floating yacht?
<By the way, in Africa, you know there's a country called Tunisia. There is a city there called, you guessed it, "Tatouine." Sound familiar?> Is that where they filmed Tatooine or is it where Lucas got the idea for the planet?
<Hmm, I thought of them more as cows. At any rate, they're called Shaaks. Must be the feeling when they step on your toes.> hehe. ;D Ow. But I can't believe they farm shaaks for their meat. Poor things.
<Hmm, not familiar with the name. Is it possibly Master Sideous?> No, it's not. It's Master Sifo-Dyas. Here, read this: www.starwars.com/databank/character/lamasu/index.html even though it's about Lama Su
<Here are those other names.
Rabé.................Cristina da Silva Eiritae...............Friday (Liz) Wilson Yané.................Candice Orwell Saché...............Sofia Coppola Sabé.................Kiera Knightley> Are those are the actresses playing each servant?

<< But why do they give it such an odd name? A floating yacht? >> Probably because it's a luxury vehicle, not necessarily a sea-going ship. <<Is that where they filmed Tatooine or is it where Lucas got the idea for the planet?>> Yes to both questions. << But I can't believe they farm shaaks for their meat. Poor things. >> Hmm, never mind, I dont' think the link I gave you was correct. They may not be shaaks. The heads are too narrow, I remember them as larger, more bulbous. <<No, it's not. It's Master Sifo-Dyas. Here, read this: www.starwars.com/databank/character/lamasu/index.html even though it's about Lama Su>> Yes, okay. Master Sifo-dyas commissioned the Lamas to make the clones. Then he died and the Lamas never got word to stop making the clones, so for the next ten years the Lamas have been making clones for the soon-to-be-Imperial Stormtroopers. Bet that's quite a bill racked up. <<Are those are the actresses playing each servant?>> Yes, I couldn't remember the names of Padme's handmaidens but that was all of them.

<Probably because it's a luxury vehicle, not necessarily a sea-going ship.> I see. I wonder if they'll make any of those in the future. I wanna ride them!
<Hmm, never mind, I dont' think the link I gave you was correct. They may not be shaaks. The heads are too narrow, I remember them as larger, more bulbous.> No, they are the correct creatures. Adorable little shaaks. Well, they're quite large actually. I meant their heads.
<Yes, okay. Master Sifo-dyas commissioned the Lamas to make the clones. Then he died and the Lamas never got word to stop making the clones, so for the next ten years the Lamas have been making clones for the soon-to-be-Imperial Stormtroopers. Bet that's quite a bill racked up.> I know that but I wanna know more about him. He seems to mysterious. I mean Kenobi mentioned "when MY master first contacted you..." his master was Qui-Gonn and also he said that he was killed ten years ago, the time that Qui-Gonn had died. But later he asks Yoda and Windu about him. Also, why did this Sifo-Dyas commission Lama Su to begin making a clone army? Lama Su said that they were 'on-time' finishing the clone army. I believe that this Sifo-Dyas had some premonition about the attack of the Conf. ?
<Yes, I couldn't remember the names of Padme's handmaidens but that was all of them.> I have two more- Dormé...Rose Byrne Cordé...Veronica Segura

<< I wonder if they'll make any of those in the future. I wanna ride them! >>
Start savin' I'm sure they're not cheap!
<<Also, why did this Sifo-Dyas commission Lama Su to begin making a clone army?>>
It was about ten years before AOTC takes place, that's why Ben Kenobi was surprised that it had happened at all.
<<I believe that this Sifo-Dyas had some premonition about the attack of the Conf. ? >>
He did, a little. There was a lot of dissention going on between the worlds of Coruscant and the Imperial armies. Not much is known of Syfo-Dyas (answering your other question.) No one knows how he died. Syfo-Dyas commissioned the Lamas to mke the clones to prepare for war. They used the genetic code of Jengo Fett. Other than that, not much is known of Syfo-Dyas.
I have two more- Dormé...Rose Byrne Cordé...Veronica Segura
New handmaidens? I didn't see those before.

<It was about ten years before AOTC takes place, that's why Ben Kenobi was surprised that it had happened at all.> During the Phantom Menace, I guess.
<He did, a little. Other than that, not much is known of Syfo-Dyas.> I wonder if he'll surface much in the next film. And also something that irritates me is why would Jango Fett allow the Kaminoans to clone him if it's used for the Republic? I thought he was against the Republic since he's a bounty hunter for Dooku--who is in the Conf.
<New handmaidens? I didn't see those before.> Cordé had died in the beginning of the film. She acted as the decoy for Amidala but then the Royal Cruiser exploded. And Dormé was the haidmaiden following Padmé's security guard.
By the way, why do all the females or haidmaidens have é's at the end? Is that like Padmé and the rest are just like copies of that name? I've seemed to have forgotten my other question. Oh well.

<It was about ten years before AOTC takes place, that's why Ben Kenobi was surprised that it had happened at all.> During the Phantom Menace, I guess. It could be, or maybe a little before that. <<I wonder if he'll surface much in the next film. >> No, because Obi-wan says he had died earlier. <<also something that irritates me is why would Jango Fett allow the Kaminoans to clone him if it's used for the Republic? I thought he was against the Republic since he's a bounty hunter for Dooku--who is in the Conf. >> Maybe that's not how it started out. Maybe it wasn't for the Republic when it all started, but after awhile, The Trade Federation (TPM) wasn't as militaristic as they are now and are now the Republic. <New handmaidens? I didn't see those before.> Cordé had died in the beginning of the film. She acted as the decoy for Amidala but then the Royal Cruiser exploded. And Dormé was the haidmaiden following Padmé's security guard. Holy cow! You one-upped me again! Good job, I did not know that. <<why do all the females or haidmaidens have é's at the end? Is that like Padmé and the rest are just like copies of that name?>> It could be a pattern that handmaidens follow. It could be that Sabe', Rabe, Padme' etc., are just a pattern or it could be a way that the people of Naboo pattern the names. It's like a name like Tatiana is identified with Russia and Eastern Europe, or O'Herlihy being identified with people who live in Ireland. Or it could be that George Lucas liked the names and wanted them all to rhyme.

<It could be, or maybe a little before that.> Do you think they'll make another episode? Just for Sifo-Dyas? ;D Who knows? Perhaps Lucas will make another trilogy before the Phantom Menace!
<No, because Obi-wan says he had died earlier.> I meant information about him. Since he was the one who asked to build a clone army for the Republic. Like why he died and etc.
<Maybe that's not how it started out. Maybe it wasn't for the Republic when it all started, but after awhile, The Trade Federation (TPM) wasn't as militaristic as they are now and are now the Republic.> Perhaps, I was thinking that Lama Su never told him who it was for in the beginning.
<Holy cow! You one-upped me again! Good job, I did not know that.> Toxic? The Star Wars know-it-all didn't know that?! Maybe it's me, I watched Episode II too many times already. Like almost everyday last week. ;D
<It could be a pattern that handmaidens follow. It could be that Sabe', Rabe, Padme' etc., are just a pattern or it could be a way that the people of Naboo pattern the names. It's like a name like Tatiana is identified with Russia and Eastern Europe, or O'Herlihy being identified with people who live in Ireland. Or it could be that George Lucas liked the names and wanted them all to rhyme.> Tatiana, I love that name. Is it that they identify similar sounding names to area? Is that what Lucas wanted so he made all the females in Naboo have an é ending? I mean whenever I hear -ov or -ski or -ana endings I immediately assume it's of Russian or Eastern European origin. Like you mentioned. :/
I was also wondering this morning, do you happen to know who Kenobi's mother and father are?
