Okay, so this is a bit premature, but I'm getting so psyched already! Post your thoughts on who you want to win, who you think will win, what you think the big upsets will be, or just your thoughts! As for me, I'm rooting for England. Remembering their experience at Euro 2000, I'm so optimistic we'll do better (maybe without Phil Neville ). However, group 9 is rough. They're matched up with Argentina (favourites to win), Nigeria and one other country (I forget who)- all quality teams. They'll need la creme de la creme, as the saying goes, if they hope to do well. But they are doing MUCH better with Erikkson I think. At least, better than with Keegan *snicker*. But that's just me. So anyways, post here!

^^ LOL
It's French. It stands for Federation d'International du Football Assosciation. You know how the ISU (International Skating Union) are like the bigwigs for skating?? FIFA is like the bigwig for soccer (football in Europe)

Soccer?! Like meaning what Ethan plays?! It has to do with Ethan... It must be good. Lol, I don't think he'd be in it though But maybe there's other guys as hot as Ethan??? Nah...! Anyways, thanks for explaning that. I thought it had something to do with soccer but there were no S's in it so, ya... I should shut up now Nikki

However, group 9 is rough. They're matched up with Argentina (favourites to win), Nigeria and one other country (I forget who) Allow me to inform you that the other country in Group 9 is Sweden.
According to my countdown, at this precise moment, sixty-one days remain until the first kickoff of the 2002 FIFA World Cup which will begin on June 1st in South Korea and Japan.
I'm rooting for France as they showed that they possess that winning touch as proven in the match against Scotland which they won 5-0. Go French! {king}

^^ 57 days by my count now Do you actually expect France to win? That's kinda a long shot, isn't it? I mean, beating Scotland 5-0?? It's Scotland! I'd like to see them up against Argentina, Italy...maybe Brazil again (for old times sake). I dunno, I just don't think they have what it takes, [again/i]. Maybe that's just me. Then again, I don't think England have what it takes either...they just...don't. I can't explain it.
I honestly couldn't say who I would expect to win this year. It's such a toss-up, for me personally. France, though? Nahhhh....

And less than a week to go, now.
I can hardly wait. I'm not much of a soccer fan, but I'm pretty psyched.

I'm rooting for England and Italia, unless of course they play each other, in which case I'm rooting for England.

Bwahahaha....Senegal beat France...the upset has begun As long as France doesn't win, it's all good.... England vs Sweden: It was pretty much what I expected. England haven't beat them in 30 years or something...but they did have what it takes. Did you see them in the first half? Total domination... My money is still on Argentina and Italy for the final...but we shall see how it progresses... (Go England!)

Korea VS. Poland is on tonight, at 11:30pm. I'm betting that Korea will win, maybe 1-0?
I thought Ronaldo's goal last night in the match between Turkey was skilled. England VS. Sweden...didn't look like there would be a break to the tie as the game drew to a close.
I'm supporting Korea...it's unlikely they'll win, but nonetheless. I suppose the favorites are Argentina, France (I'm skeptical after that loss to Senagal), England (possibly), and maybe Brazil.

Since Sri Lanka isn't in the FIFA World Cup, and probably never will be, I'm rooting for Saudi Arabia and any Arab country, Senegal and Italy. I'd place me money on Italy though.

Woo-hoo!
South Korea beat Poland 2-0 - that's fantastic!
Does anyone know where I could get some good images of World Cup soccer? I want to use them in the background of my LiveJournal.
Anyway, I have to go to school. Go, Korea!
