I mean, S. Korea beat Italy and Spain to get where they are (despite some terrible calls) but they got there, didn't they? Isn't some credit due? Had the bad calls been against S. Korea, the world would be happy because Italy is ALWAYS in the final. But now that the bad calls are against Italy suddenly the world is angry. What happened happened, even if S. Korea didn't deserve to make it to the semi's, their other games weren't flukes
I just read this. and I agree with you (but what exacltly does a bad call mean?A bad referee?)
But of course you can understand us. We have played a good match. And we have been thrown out. Maybe S.K deserved to win, but so did we. The referees should be fair. ALWAYS.

Well. Curtains down. As always, Brazil won.
The referee was partial to Turkey during their match against Korea. If he had noticed the foul committed by one of the Turks, the second goal would be none. There was also elbowing in the penalty area, and a peanlty kick should have been awarded to Korea. There were plenty of strange calls. But hey, you win some, you lose some. We're happy with fourth.
4 good goals cancelled during the matches from the referees (i don't know any technical football talk in english, so excuse my ignorance). Four? I thought it was five.
With the referee partial to them, it is difficult to see if they won because they are really BETTER than us. The referee made a couple controversial calls, but the linesmen were even worse. The officiating was just terrible.

Yes, you are right. It was five.
Anyway, it is over. But I think the referees and linesmen should be chosen more carfully, and should be more technically prepared and less partial and corrupt.
I am happy Brazil won, even if I would have liked Deutschland to win (I stayed there for the last 2 weeks and have grown to love that country).
In two years, Europe's Cup, and let's hope ITALY wins!!

I wanted Germany to win (basically just because Brazil knocked England out....*sob*), they have such determination, you know? But Brazil has flare...when they win, you better believe they deserve it.
And ugly ref (that Italian guy, that's how I refer to him as...he creeps me out....but he's the best!) called a good game.
Soleluna, when bad calls are made (as was the case against Italy for their matches) it means that the linemen/ref screwed up. For example, in the s.Korea/Italy game, 2 Italian goals were called back when it was obvious to the ENTIRE world that they should have been allowed. But then again, refs don't have the luxury of watching replays, however, they're trained to catch those things, you know? It was pretty poor.

And ugly ref (that Italian guy, that's how I refer to him as...he creeps me out....but he's the best!) called a good game. You mean Pierluigi Collina? I reckon he's a cutie. He's the best referee out there. He reminds me of Lord Voldemort/Professor Quail from the Harry Potter movie. Apparently 18 years ago, he lost all his hair in 15 days to a disease called alopecia.

Yeah, Collina is the best referee EVER! lol.
Between Germany and Brazil he was very good, I reckon. But usually italian referees are well trained due to the peculiar situation of our teams.....

The thing I fun so very amusing is that a couple years ago, the German Football Confederation (something like that) jokingly sent a hairdryer as a gift to Collina, and since then, Germany have lost all the games he has refereed, one including the 5-1 defeat by England for the World Cup qualifiers.

Nonono, I think I was misunderstood. I was definetely not bad mouthing him! I think he's one of the best, if not. I just never knew his name, and his appearance makes him stand out so much...well, he just reminded me of the grim-reaper.
But no, I love the guy. He calls a perfect game and everyone knows it.
What I said earlier was just my..er...analogy I guess.

I wouldn't say he calls a 100% perfect game every single time. But he does call it pretty even. He's such a cutie!
