<<Because they had . . . Uh, wait, you're going to have to find out for yourself! And remember, I've seen it three times now! >> Ok, I really can't contain it anymore. I have to go see it!!! What's really bothering me is what will happen to Amidala in Episode III? Many people say she'll die but how? It's gonna be *really* sad without her.

That's my guess too. Queen/Senator Padme' Neberrie Amidala is probably going to die. Either she will be killed by Anakin or die in a battle. See, Anakin has to be pushed to the Dark Side and to do that something has to really freak him out. He's already lost someone dear to him, and this would cinch it. You will understand when you see AOTC.
It's going to be sad without her, but that's where A New Hope, Episode Four will pick up. Episode III will be where we might see Anakin become Darth Vader. Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia will be Anakin's and Padme's children. You might remember that they had to be split up to protect them. I'm hoping that David Prowse, the original Darth Vader will play the older Anakin in EP-III
Trivia: The Dutch word for Father is "Vader." I wonder if Darth Vader means "Dark Father." Cool huh?

<<Trivia: The Dutch word for Father is "Vader." I wonder if Darth Vader means "Dark Father." Cool huh?>> Interesting. ;D Never knew that. Why Dutch though? I'm gonna miss Padme but Vader is played by Hayden again, I believe I've seen that somewhere. It's too bad Padme is gonna die.

Why Dutch? Who knows, it may have been intentional or just random. Star Wars is a mix of alot of ideas like 1940's space comic books, and cowboys and indians. Darth Vader's helmet is modeled after a Samurai Warrior's helmet. The Jedi masters are dressed much like Shinto monks. The name, "Jedi" comes from a Japanese soap opera called "Jiddah." The X-Wing fighter is a cross between a drag-racer and an X-15 fighter jet. The Millenium Falcon, Han Solo's ship, the round one with the mandibles on the front. It's cockpit is modeled after a WWII bomber, the B-17 Flying Fortress. Amidala's ship in the opening of AOTC sounds like a huge propeller driven airplane.
Read, Star Wars, the Magic of Myth for more. But that's one reason Stars Wars is so much fun because it borrows from everyrthing people can identify with.
Utinni!

Well, yes, now that you've mentioned it, Darth Vader's helmet does look a lot like a samurai's helmet. Odd, but very creative. I mean if Lucas had just borrowed from one culture, it would've been monotonus. I like it. I hope I'll see Star Wars next week. There's also a "Star Wars" physics paper due next week too. haha.

As to the borrowing of cultures, alot of the languages you hear in Star Wars are based on real world, real languages. So are some of the sound effects. The Jawa's language I think is based on a Tibetan dialect. Some of the laser sounds come from striking two peices of dry ice together, or banging on the guy wires of those tall TV towers. The light saber sounds are from a microphone or magnetized bar and waving it in front of a TV and speaker. This was mixed with the purring of an old movie projector. Sure you don't want to work in Hollywood? Banthas, those huge animals with the long tusks in A New Hope, were dressed up elephants. The pod race was a nod to drag racing, with some of the pod racers purposly made to sound like race cars. The Imperial Storm Troopers were based on the soldiers always marching through Nazi Germany. Chewbacca's grunts and howls are seals and elephant sounds run backwards and played with, so are the TIE Fighters, an elephant howl which was remixed and twisted around. Wookies are a pet name for potholes that a friend of George Lucas coined and it stuck. Chewbacca was the name of this friend's dog. C3PO was based on the robot in Metropolis, a movi from Germany made in the 1920's. Ahead of its time. "Mos Eisley Spaceport. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious." "Find the source of the Dark Side we must, yes? Hmmm."

how did you know all that? It's so interesting how they mixed all those cultures into one movie. Btw, I was wondering what Han Solo was riding in Empire Strikes Back in the snow? My physics teacher referred them as "the big furry bunnies" or something similar. haha. So, what are they?

How do I know so much? I'm a Star Wars nut. Mwahahahaha!
Those creatures you ask of on the planet Hoth are called Tauntauns. The monster that wacked Luke off his and took him home to snack on later is called a Wampa.
"Adventure, heh! Excitement, heh! A Jedi craves not these things."

Well, I should've known that. ;D Wait that Wampa ate Luke?!

No, Luke cut himself out of the ice he was stuck in and cut the Wampa's arm off then left. That's when Han Solo found him half frozen.
"You just can't bear to let a gorgeous guy like me out of your sight." "I don't know what you're talking about." "You didn't want me to leave without a goodbye kiss." "I'd just as soon kiss a Wookie." "I can arrange that!"

Ohh...I have yet to see that ;D ok, few questions: 1. Padme Amidala, Padme Naberrie 2. Who is Count Wooky, or Hooky or what?? sorry, forgot his name ;D 3. And what will happen to Mace Windu? I mean, he's not in the original trilogy, soooooo...what? 4. Where did Jar Jar Binks go?!?!?! I mean, he doesn't even talk!!! 5. I saw in the trailer, when Anakin & Obi were riding in that *thingy* pod, what is that electricity pinky stuff? Oh and the cities...how deep are they? I mean they look really deep. Like what if you fall?? Ok, I'm finished being annoying now. Bye!

Thanks dizzyupthegirl and I'm glad to corrupt. . . .uh, I mean I'm glad to have influenced you. You're right, maybe it is the Force. Hi Labeautiful: 1) Yep, her real (stage) full name is Padme' Neberrie Amidala. 2) It's Count Dooku. He's the current baddie, Darth Sidious's right hand man. 3) So far Mace Windu is alive but he does die in EP 4 but not sure how yet. They haven't even started yet, gotta wait till 2005. 4) Not sure what happens to Jar Jar but he does something nasty (unwittingly) in AOTC. Which gives people another reason to hate him. 5) That electric arc Anakin and Obi-Wan fly through was sort of pointless. I mean nothing happened to them. But the person who did it was an assasin hired by Jango Fett (Yep, Boba Fett's dad) to kill Senator Amidala. The assasin shot at a transformer and that what caused that huge pink arc. 6) <<Oh and the cities...how deep are they? I mean they look really deep. Like what if you fall??>> My guess is that the Cities of Coruscant: The "shortest" building is about 1,000 feet tall with some of the larger buildings at about a mile high or more. As you remember the planet was heavily populated so they can't build more buildings, so they builld up and up. Wider, higher and bigger. So if you fell, you'd have a long drop. Hopefully not hitting a hovercar on the way down. <<Ok, I'm finished being annoying now. Bye! >> Now stop that, I like these questions!

<<3) So far Mace Windu is alive but he does die in EP 4 but not sure how yet. They haven't even started yet, gotta wait till 2005.>> so odd, I'm graduating that year!!! ;D Anyways, he dies? That's so sad. Are you sure he dies or does he escape somewhere. <<4) Not sure what happens to Jar Jar but he does something nasty (unwittingly) in AOTC. Which gives people another reason to hate him.>> wow, and I thought ppl hated him because he was annoying. I liked him in The Phantom Menace <<5) That electric arc Anakin and Obi-Wan fly through was sort of pointless. I mean nothing happened to them. But the person who did it was an assasin hired by Jango Fett (Yep, Boba Fett's dad) to kill Senator Amidala. Oh, btw, I don't know if you've heard this song, but the song Anakin and Padme, if it's about their relationship, it can give clues about the next film. At the beginning of the song, it's very beautiful and airy and light and later on it gets darker and at the very end, there's like this shocking and "horrific" like sounding music, it's very loud. and then it just ends. What does that tell you? I'm just curious.

Mace Windu dies. Samuel L. Jackson said so and he told George Lucas that "when he kills off Mace Windu, make it a cool death." People did hate Jar Jar "because he'sa bombad nasty." You'sa liken him, he not annoying to you? <<doesn't Anakin fall, like he deliberately jumps out of that thing they were riding in.>> Yes, he jumps out of the hovercar. You'll like that scene. << Wow, it's incredible all this knowledge you have. hehe>> Yep, I know! I haven't heard that song. Is it an instrumental, and part of the AOTC soundtrack? Or is it a vocal? Right now from your description, it tells a sense of forboding, Death maybe of Padme'. Or Anakin being severely wounded, or both. And that's the genius of John Williams. I don't think Star Wars would be half as good without the music since it's so integral to the films. He just sets the right moods and the subtle clues to what's going on or what will happen. In the EP I soundtrack, you hear Anakin' theme. It's starts all airy and happy and ends with a few bars of the Imperial Storm Trooper March. In AOTC the movie ends with Duel of the Fates and the Imperial Storm Trooper March.
