I was wondering whether any of you have a gun in your household? Ok, maybe I have been watching too many movies but all of a sudden, these guns pop out from under the bed or whatever! In England, nobody seems to own a gun as such, I could be wrong...

My father has many guns, but they are in a safe in which only he know the combination, as are the bullets. So really it would be pretty much impossible for me or any of my siblings the get a hold of a fire arm. But we wouldn't in the first place because my parents taught us responsibility and respect for our parent's privacy.

My dad did keep a gun but the police needed it from a friend of ours

We have several guns at our house. My dad was 3 pistols, I have a rifle (my dad wants me to go hunting with him.... blah) and my dad has 3 other rifles. They're kept where no one can get them excpet my dad, and the bullets are always stored in another room.

Yep, 6 handguns. As my dad says, one for every day of the week, except Sunday cuz that's a day of rest (haha ). Although he may be giving me one (of which has already been deemed "mine") for my graduation so that will leave him 5... But yes, they are all locked up and my dad is the only one who knows the combo, but like pettyluv said, I wouldn't want to get at them anyhow... Unless need may be.

Our house? My mom wouldn't even dream of having weapons any more threatening than a kitchen knife.
I think having guns in a household is dangerous, unless it's locked away securely in a safe or some place where it'd be out of reach of children. Even leaving spare bullets around the house is dangerous - you don't know who will pick it up or what they will do with it.
A lot of the students involved with school shooting had easy access to guns, but no one managed to pick up on it. I'm not saying it could have been prevented, because it couldn't have - they would have snapped either way.

Uh, may I ask something? Why do you have guns in your household? Security reasons?
My house is pretty secure without guns. I infact have never seen a real gun in reality before.

The guns in our house are mainly because my dad likes hunting. He has 2 pistols for security.

Ours are for protection and just plain old fun: going to the range and shooting. I, personally, feel more safe with a firearm in the home, and when my dad carries one.

Nope. My mom would never allow a gun in our house. Besides, nothing happens up here so there really is no point of owning a gun for protection.

Nope, we don't have any guns in our household. We really have no need for a gun. I don't even think my parents have thought about that before.

We don't have guns. If a rapist (or robber, or kidnapper, etc.) ever comes into my home, I'll just stab him with the fucking steak knife. Muhahaha

the closest thing we have to a gun in our household is a BB gun, and damn did my brothers shoot those things all over the walls when they were younger. my mom hated it.
