<<I will not pledge my allegiance to the republic, if i am correct that is another way of saying i pledge my loyalty to the government which i don't>>
Why do you not pledge you allegiance to the Republic? This country has provided you and your forefathers with the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of this country today.
<<I for one dont believe in god there are a lot of people with different religions and do not belive in god or belive in more than one god.>>
That is fine, but the Founding Fathers were people of God and that fact must be respected.

^^^ i don't like how the governemnt is run. they get out money and we slave away working for them. we fall farther and farther into debt while they waste the money that comes out of our paychecks.i do respect that the founding fathers believed in god.i respect all religions. i have friends who are islamic and hindu and i dont see why in the pledge it says "one nation under god" when there are so many different religions. btw, i have always wondered when the pledge started and who created it. does anyone know?

I have mixed feelings on this whole thing, I'm for being patriotic, but I don't you think you should be forced to do anything in this country, its the land of the free right? Well then? Well, sure you have respect the law.But DO YOU HAVE TO recite the Pledge? I can remember a couple of years ago, where in my class we had to recite the pledge and the were two kids who were JohvoWitnesses, so they didn't have to recite anything or stand up. That is because of their religion. So because of my belief in not standing up during the Pledge, does that mean I don't have to do it either?

^^No, the USSC has ruled that you do not have to stand or recite the Pledge. Most Americans stand as a matter of principle and respect for the nation.

No one in this country has any legal obligation to say the pledge. However, many people died so that we could have the freedom to not have to pledge our allegiance to everything that our flag stands for. So I think that it's very disrespectful to not at least stand for the pledge of allegience.

I think it's disrespectful to make fun of the pledge (like some kids used to do), but I don't think it's disrespectful to, if you have a reason, non-disruptively decide not to participate. Some people do this by standing, some people by staying seated -- I don't think either of those are disrespectful. I do, however, think that chatting to your neighbor about a date through the whole thing *is*.
