It's a prescription though, right? It doesn't sound like something available over-the-counter, so I don't think that the "murderer might get ahold of it" thing is the big issue.
I'm not sure where I stand on the euthanasia issue in general. I can see all sorts of problems with it being legal (family pressure to get it over with and pass on the inheritance). And one of the people I know who opposes it spends his life taking care of terminally ill patients and tends to argue that it's the result of poor end-of-life care.
But I would like the choice to die with dignity if that was all I had left. On the other hand, I think I could find a way to do it if it came down to that, so I don't know about needing a doctor to write the Rx.

I'm totally against this. I look down on people who want to kill themselves; I have no sympathy for them. There are some out there dying, who want to live, but they have NO CHOICE. Then there are people....who can live healthy and awesome lives, but instead want to be selfish and take that away.
I pity them.

Are you trying to kill yourself and take a life which you could so happily live?

Please don't do it again. Don't get mad at me for saying this, but this is how I think:
I think taking your own life...something that you can control...is a very selfish thing. There are others out there who WANT to live, but can't...because they have no control over it (ie. Those who have been murdered or have a disease). I find it very sad and pathetic.
Just my opinion, though.

Most people who are committing suicide aren't living happy lives, and often don't feel like they have control over anything *except* being able to die.

If this pill is ever passed, then the government are muderers themselves.

^^I dont think that the supposed pill would be government subsidized, but it would be produced by private companies.

I'm a christian, and I think if someone kills themselves, they go to hell.
My opinion.

^^ As just a Christian (not Catholic), suicide does not mean you go to hell. the greatest sin is not accepting God's savior. So, suicide only means you have a lot of explaining to do to God when your judgment day comes, not necessarily hell.
