Some of my friends have belly button rings. The teachers will see them when they raise their hand sometimes and say,"Pull down your shirt!"

Ugh, I hate our dress codes! My friend got suspended cause she died her head a REALLY dark dark purple! It looked black to me, just in the sun or bright light, you could tell it was purple. They said it was "distracting" to the other students. There's like 5 people in my school last year who bleached their hair and it was like bright yellow. To me, that's a little more "distracting" than dark dark purple... I aslo got sent home cause my skirt was ONE FOURTH of an inch too short. Jeesh... That made me mad cause the cheerleader's butts are LITTERALLY hanging out of their skirts. (I mean, you could see their butts...)

Our dress codes (as far as dying your hair goes) aren't really that bad. I'm going to dye my hair burgendy or put bright red streaks in my hair again this year (they let me do it last year too) and they've never said anything to me. The only thing they really look at are the super-short skirts. So yeah....it's all good.

well I have my hair high-lighted white (yeah I'm a blonde...it doesn't really show unless you actually POINT IT OUT to certain people ) So I doubt anyone will notice mine..(or even care)

my school is pretty free with our dress codes. you can have hair any color, as distracting as you want (hence the guys at my school with mohawks or foot long bright red spikey hair). most clothes are allowed as long as they aren't *too* revealing. we're not supposed to wear spaghetti strap tops, but people do anyway and get away with it all the time. we're probably not supposed to have wallet chains, i think they'll get taken away as a "weapon".
my middle school was awful tho. we had uniforms, but we were able to wear whatever kind of jacket or sweater we wanted. i wore an mxpx sweater for a very long time, and one day i was walking down the hall and an administrater stopped me and said that i couldn't wear my sweatshirt because it was "gang affiliated". i couldn't help but laugh... MXPX?! gang affiliated?! come on, it's a christian based punk band. geez...

Hmm...I'm flipping through our school's handbook right now. Here's exactly what it says about hair/dress codes:
Guidelines for Student Dress
A. Slacks: Students can wear slacks including bluejeans as long as they are clean, without holes, do not give the appearance of having been worn-out, are free from inappropriate patches or other decorations, have adequate clearance from the dloor, and are suited to the person wearing them - not too tight, not too baggy. (Yeah...that is what they SAY. But they barely enforce these rules. You can have hole-y pants, worn-out appearance, etc. They just don't say anything. Ha.)
B. Casual Clothes: Students are not to wear casual clothes such as shorts, overalls, cutoffs, swim suits, muscle shirts, halter tops, backless tops, or anything that exposes th area from the chest to waist. (Once again....they're dumb. You CAN in fact wear shorts, overalls, and cutoffs.)
C. Undergarments: Students should wear appropriate undergarents to fit their growth, but any garment such as a plain, white T-shirt, which is normally worn as underwear. (Okay...I didn't exactly understand that last part...)
D. Footwear: Students must wear some type of footwear but shoes with cleats are prohibited. (Which is understandable.)
E. Hair: Students are to keep their hair neat and clean and wear it in a manner that will keep it out of their eyes. Students whose hair is such length as to present health or safety problems are to provide hair nets, bands, or clips which will restrain their hair. This is to be determined by the administration and the individual teachers for their classes. (Um, RIGHT. But anyways...it doesn't say anything about hair color. So you can pretty much dye your hair any color you want.)
There was more, but the rest seemed pretty pointless to list.

They all seemed pointless and you can wear overalls?? Oh Lord. Oh and today,my friend,Cilla wore this skirt..well anyway she had a 'belt' that went with it but it's not supposed to tie up or anything it's like kind of fancy and just goes through the hoops..well One of the admin's came up to her and was like "Why isn't your belt buckled?!" and she was like "uh..cause it came like that" (which is pretty obvious since the ends are little frizzly..things. then the admin person was like "Oh...Well I have one just like it" and started about how hers is a little bit different..yet ..the "same" woo hooo Also, what if someone couldn't do their hair and wore clothes that weren't (r d didn't look) Clean?? Like what if they were poor or something?? Would they send them home or what??

My school doesn't have any dress codes at all. People come to school in leather miniskirts, spikes jewelry, 6-inch platforms, and red mohawks. I actually have my nose pierced and two holes in each ear, and I'm going to get my industrial done hopefully this week. (Eeek, I'm so excited!) Love, ~Mike
