I thought I would inform you all that the Razz archives are gone. Here is what they said on the site. Goodbye ChickClick We've achieved so much we can be proud of these past few years: We've educated ourselves about our bodies, argued about current events and even designed our own accessories. We've celebrated cool chicks who are stirring things up, from stellar athletes to musical mavens to young activists. We've shared our fiction and our poetry. We've advised, we've commiserated and we've formed lasting friendships. Unfortunately, because of the changes in the economy, we can no longer keep ChickClick up and running. And while it is sad to lose ChickClick -- or any place where women feel they can safely talk about what's happening in their worlds -- we know that you will find other communities where you can continue using you voice: Keep talking, writing, dancing, singing, playing, drawing, photographing, editorializing, voting, protesting, shouting, debating, educating, journaling, volunteering, praying, designing, organizing and loving. Keep discovering who you are. Keep fighting for what you believe. razzberry.chickclick.com/

Then we was basically lied to? I believe they said that Razz would be kept up as read-only. Hmmmm, lawsuit anyone?

^^ So? It's still mean. They said it would be read-only, and what harm does that do? Former Razzers would still like to look back at their memories.

^^Well I would assume that the archives take up a lot space and cost lots of money. I knew it was inevitable, but it is still sad.

I was hoping I could continue referring to the site to look back on memories. This is completely unexpected.
<<Then we was basically lied to? I believe they said that Razz would be kept up as read-only. Hmmmm, lawsuit anyone?>> They didn't sign a contract initiating that they would keep the archives as Read-Only forever. Therefore, I don't think you have a strong case there.
<<^^ So? It's still mean. They said it would be read-only, and what harm does that do? Former Razzers would still like to look back at their memories.>> Yeah, it is sad, but it cost money to keep it up, which they couldn't afford.

Well I apologize if I sounded serious about that, but I was only kidding. I'm not going to go and sue them about something like that.

Well, we knew it was going to happen, I'm suprised it was up this long. It costs money to keep a website and maintain the Servers and other equipment. The average server is like your computer, and Razz easily had about 100 servers at about $500.00 each and those would be the least expensive. Then theres the router equipment, electric bills, and support and maintenence staff. That's why they couldn't just leave it up. I can't imagine the hundreds of gigabytes worth of graphics and all our messages in there.

Well, luckily the old razzberry archives are still up. So if you want to bring old topics over here, you can still do that.

Well, last time I checked (this afternoon), the original razz archives were still up. I'm referring to www.razzberry.com.

I would think the original razzberry is staying archived. It wasn't a part of CC, so I don't see why it would close, especially when it's already been archived for a year.
Anyhoo, I don't know about the rest of you, but I wasn't at the "old" razz. I joined a week before it closed, so I never really got to post. I have no memories of it, and it holds no meaning to me like the newer Razz did. I still go there sometimes and read through it, but since I was never really a part of it, it basically means nothing to me.
The two are not, nor will they ever, be the same. They could take that one down, also, and it would have no affect on me whatsoever. If I can't have *my* Razz, I don't want any others..
