I definitely agree with Esther. Just because spastic has a lot of posts doesn't mean her posts aren't meaningful. I won't name names (some of you know who I mean), but someone on here needs to chiiiiiiiill. Thank you. And why is everyone so against fluff? I can understand getting pissed off at "lol" or "I agree!" posts, but fluff is just posting something unrelated to the topic. Seriously. Check the CC/Razz dictionary. (No, seriously, there is a dictionary.) And Midnight, if you're against fluff in all threads, why don't you let people have a thread to let out their hyperness? Did any of you see the Fluff thread at CC? That's what it was, and it was SO much fun. You could just pop in and sing some lyrics and talk to your friends about anything. Maybe we should try giving people a little more breathing room... One thing I have to say. Does anyone else notice that whenever a certain Spazzer (<--goy.) posts on a thread, almost all the people who post after him/her have nothing to say except, "I agree! Wow, _______ is sooo smart!" and "Omigawd, I loooooooove _______!" *rolls eyes* Love, ~The Kitten~

Well, I thought we'd already gone over this, but in case I'm wrong...what's wrong with fluffing (excessively that is) is that it raises peoples numbers and stars up to where it doesn't seem fair to the rest of the people. Every now and then a "lol", or an "I agree" isn't a big deal. What ticks some people off is when someone does it constantly. Some people, especially newbies, judge someone on the number of posts they have. I've seen this, and it sucks. I can totally see why Midnights doing this, he's trying to keep it fair.
Sunny-Nothings wrong with posting as long as you have something to say, it's just people who 9 times out of 10, post "lol", or something like that. Spastic wasn't bad about it, but some people are/were.

This is one reason that I don't really enjoy this place as much as I enjoyed Razz. There are people here, I am not naming ANYONE, that I think weren't noticed as much at Razz so they are fluffing because they think they will be noticed here. I think that quality posting, saying more than "I agree" and "Yeah, me too" is much better. I would rather read a post that has meaning to it. It shows that that particular person took the time to voice their opinion, so I should take the time to read it. It frustrates me when I see certain people posting everywhere, and they may have a ton of posts, but only 3 word responses. It bugs the crap out of me, and no one will read that, they usually just skip over it. So, I think that everyone should take the time and make their posts well thought out and expressive.
*Of course this wouldn't apply to certain threads like in the game section*

One fluffing thread wouldn't hurt anyone. It would be great to have a place just to relax and say whatever we want. Maybe people would be less likely to do the "LOL" posts if they had a thread to do as they please.
Razzberry was full of fluff, much more than this place was. If I see someone saying "I agree!" in a post now, I just read over it and continue to the next reply. I don't get my panties in a bunch over it anymore, I just don't concern myself with it. I know I completely contradicted my post earlier in this thread, but my outlook on "fluffing" has changed drastically.
There hasn't been a huge problem with it here. Well, one situation, but it was taken care of. It used to bug me, but who cares? Everyone knows who the most respected posters are, who has the best opinions... It shouldn't matter how many posts you have. Complaining about someone else fluffing for a high post count shows that you put an importance on it, too (not directed towards anyone in particular).
By lowering someone's post count... What good does it do? It makes the person embarassed, and it's noticable to everyone. If someone fluffs that much, people will notice without lowering the fluffer's post count.
I don't want someone to look at me and say "Hey, look, she has over 300 posts!" I want them to say "Hey, that's the girl who made the really great argument on the such-and-such board!"

Yeah, I understand the problem with people posting "lol" all the time. I think that sucks, too. But really, isn't fluffing posting something unrelated to the topic? That's what I always thought/was told. I was saying we should have a fluff thread for THAT--like, if you're feeling hyper and you want to say something silly...you can just go there and be all, "you guys! I love Oreos and peanut butter! mmm!" That's what the Random Thoughts thread is. I wasn't saying to make a thread for getting your post count up. Love, ~The Kitten~

Kittennette - do you mean who I think you mean? Yeah, I think you do... lol... if you are talking about that spazzer.. then yeah I have noticed that. "Sunny-Nothings wrong with posting as long as you have something to say, it's just people who 9 times out of 10, post "lol", or something like that. Spastic wasn't bad about it, but some people are/were." Yeah, that's actually what I was trying to say too. ;D ~*Esther*~

Okay..my post count was lowered by 100. I thought that was TOTALLY unfair. But, eh...I guess life's not fair. Anyways, I had hardly as much fluff as some other people did, and mine was pretty much the only one lowered. I barely fluffed too. Ugh.

^^^ What do you consider fluffing? Obviously not one-sentence answers.
I think your post count being lowered was fair. I think you were fluffing, maybe not excessively, but fluffing nevertheless. I'd like to earn my posts instead of simply adding, 'I know!' or 'Not me!'.
<<I had hardly as much fluff as some other people did, and mine was pretty much the only one lowered.>> In my opinion, there was one other person fluffing as much as you, and her post count was reduced reasonably.

I, thankyouverymuch, take pride in ALL of my posts. I bet I had 10 fluff posts tops. I don't think reducing post counts do any good. I could care less about the stars. It's the posts and the thought that you put into them that count.

^^^ How much thought could you possibly include in ten words?
I don't understand how you can think you weren't fluffing. Not that it's ceased completely, although a moderate dose of fluffing is good, I'm sure you had more than 10 fluffing posts.
What approach should we take? How about wiping out the entire post count?

spastic.fruit, this isn't meant to be rude or anything, but if post count really doesn't matter that much to you, then why do you care so much that your post count was lowered?

I don't mean to be ganging up on you spastic or anything...but alot of your posts were/are fluff. I checked your post count, and most of them were one line long, while some of them weren't even 10 words. I know you've been trying to take more care in your posts, and you've gotten better at it, but just try a little harder . If any of that came off as mean, I'm sorry. I didn't mean for it too.

^ A lot of posts are only like one sentence or a couple of sentences long. If for example you post something at the games board, it's not gonna be much use to make a post of more than one sentence, usually. Take a look at your own posts, you probably have more posts like that than you expected.
