Would you ever ditch your best friend for the "Popular Group"??

Uh, no. That's just plain stupid. Then you could end up losing ALL of your friends.

I wouldn't, but I know friends who would, and have.
I have a friend who is very insecure, and so any chance to get in with the popular crowd is taken by her. She'll tell them about her boyfriends and will swear and try to be like them. Those of us who know her better just see through it, and usually a popular crowd doesn't stay friends with other people for ages. So my group usually just put up with it. We can see her insecurities, and loads of other people are doing so as well. My aim is to support her.
But it is very annoying, so please don't do it intentionally!

No, I certainly wouldn't. Ditch your best friend (s) just to spend time with the "in" crowd trying to act "cool"? Ha! Spare me the experience.

No way! I'm totally over that whole "popular" thing. It's such a cliched label, and a lot of popular people are really fake, pretty much all backstabbers. I'm just happy knowing that I have a group of friends who accept me for me, so why risk losing that all on superficial "fake" friends?

Maybe if I had a best friend.
Other than that, I wouldnt have to ditch my best friend. Who says I cant be friends with both? Im a very open-minded person, Im friends with all types of people you could possibly imagine.

Nooo way. You only get a handful of really good friends in life, and if you're stupid enough to leave one of them for a group of people who don't even truly care about you or like you for who you are... then i feel very sorry for you. Popularity isn't everything.

Never! That's just shallow and stupid. Popularity is one of the most overrated things ever, believe me.

I wouldn't do that. Ditching a true friend for popularity is shallow, indeed. Hanging w/ a popular group of people doesn't mean you share w/ them the special thing that you and your friend have. *shrugs*
monkey ...kittenette is humoring me by being my friend. and Popcorn is just too cool.
