I don't think it will end. As much as I would like it to end, there's always gonna be stupid people in this world.

I agree with LittleGreenDream. We can't control the way the rest of the world views the differences in people. There will always be those who refuse to see people for what they're worth. I guess the idea is that we don't let them get to us because, inside, we know we're better than that.

No, I don't think it will end. The only way I see this happening is if everyone just shuts up about it, so it won't be in the faces of the new generation. If they grow up in a world where racism isn't mentioned a great deal, racist ideas will eventually die out. But that ain't likely to happen. Would be nice tho.

Yeah if noone would mention the existance of racism ever again, the kids growing up would probably not become racist. Until I was, like, 6, I had no idea that racism existed and the idea of disliking someone because of their race didn't even enter my mind. And then when I heard about it, I honestly didn't understand why anyone would be racist. Well, I still don't, but now I know that the people who are racist are simply ignorant. Anyway, since there are racist people now, who are going to teach their kids to be racist too, yes, I think that there will always be racism, or that it will at least take a *very* long time before it ends. Of course this doesn't mean that we shouldn't try to fight racism! ~*Esther*~

No, I dont think it will ever end. No matter where in the world you may go, there will always be stupid ignorant people. It would be really nice if racism did end, but thats one thing the world will always have to put up with.

i don't think that racism will ever end. why? because there's too many different people with different views and different ways of how they were raised. a lot of people are narrow-minded, shallow, ignorant, and cannot see past appearances. its so sad, but so true.

Racism will never end as long as people fear people that are different from themselves.

I dont think racism will ever end. It all starts on how people are brought up. Yes people who have racist parents might not feel the same way but most of the time parents influence their children in many ways, one of them being whether they are racist or not. So I dunno but I do think this problem could get better...but I dont think it will ever be completely gone.

^^^Yeah. What SideKick said. Actually, I wish it would, but I honestly don't think our society will ever learn to forgo prejudices such as racism until we are united, perhaps against a common enemy. (For example, post Sept. 11th...) I think it's definitely deeply rooted in your parents and companions-- even if you're not into the peer pressure thang, their views can influence yours without you even realizing it. I have a question: do you guys think anything like the slavery in the 18th and 19th centuries will ever occur again? Why or why not? ^^ I dont really see how such a thing could happen again in our civilized society. As technology has continued to improve the need for slavery and human labor decreases. The only concievable form of slavery I could ever forsee in the future of humanity is an Orwellian type one.

No, I don't think that racism will end. There are very cruel people in the world, and there always will be.
Some of my friends are racist, but they don't realize it. See, racism can go two ways. Some people hate blacks/whites, which is one form of racism. If you love blacks/whites just because they are black/white, IS racism, which most people don't recognize.
Racism is stupid. Agh! Where's the love? Stop the hate!

Well Spastic even though I am getting way off topic I'll explain what I meant.
Basically an Orwellian society would be that in which the government or "Big Brother" has complete control over your entire life. They can monitor your every move in and out of your house. There is no privacy and you are a literal slave to the state, as they control you in every possible manner. This idea was extrapolated in George Orwell's quite notable novel 1984 in which he forsaw such a society described above.
When looked at by some this seemingly impossible situation does not seem all that far-fetched. When one looks at the situation of society today, would you say we are becoming more free? Would you say that government is doing more or less than ever to protect your privacy? Would you say that this does not really seem like that unlikely of a distant future?
