...Waste of money, or good quality? Is it really worth it to shove out $50 for a name brand when you could get about 2 or 3 average-priced items for the same amount of money?

I guess it totally depends. I do believe the designer clothing are the best quality and that's one of the reasons why they're so expensive. Also probably because sometimes they're imported from other places (fashion capitals). But usually it's the clothing's durability and also because it's just 'designer' I guess. But still, I'd rather pay a few more dollars for a good quality than money for a poor quality piece of clothing. 8)

I would buy something I liked, and if it was in good condition. Most times I do buy designer clothes, but more so because of the flair they have to them. Some department store brands I find rather bland or plain, while most designer clothes, like LaBeautiful said, are imported, so they're different, yet if I did find something I liked that wasn't brand name, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it, because I like what I like.

The only way I would wear designer clothing is if I really really liked it...and if I would wear it a lot. Otherwise, it would probably be a waste of my money.

I do like some designer clothes. They are better quality sometimes, but I don't get a lot of the plain cotton t-shirts that say "TOMMY" on the front... It's like you're paying $30 for that cheap little shirt that would cost $3.99 at Wal-Mart. I can't bring myself to splurge on a designer item... I always feel bad buying it, whether I'm spending my own money or my parents' money. That's why my expensive purchases are few and far between.

Yeah, I feel bad also when I buy really expensive clothes. Like all has been lost or something. That's why I don't buy much of it. I'm a bargain shopper. ;D

I hardly buy designer clothing because it's simply not worthe my money. Designer clothing isn't always a higher quality. I have bought a couple of designer items and they haven't even lasted more than two months whereas my non-designer clothing have lasted me years. I would much rather buy four shirts for $70 than one shirt for that same price. It's only logical.

I kind of like designer clothing. I do a lot of shopping a Winners, which is a designer outlet store so basically you can buy designer clothing at fairly low prices. One time I even got a pair of Guess jeans for 15$ (which is pretty amazing). It just depends on if you can find something in your size or not.

spending a bunch of money on one thing feels liek a waste - really, i could use that money for something more important.
i like shopping at thrift stores and vintage places. Walmart's also cool.... but like katherine said ^ Winner's is AWESOME!

Ahahah I have to admit, I like name brands. But that doesn't mean just because it's a name brand I'm going to buy it. It has to be for a reasonable price and not something that I could get cheaper somewhere else. Because if I find something that's identical and cheaper---then forget the name brand I'm going for the cheaper!! Lol. And no I would waste my money on a regular t-shirt that just said "Tommy", "Guess" or whatever brand name on it

There are only two things that influence my decision to buy something:
1) how it looks 2) price
If I like something, and it's a decent price, then I will most likely buy it (well, unless I really don't need it. but I don't usually go shopping unless I need or really want something).
