(off topic) Thaicelady u have *69* posts! *giggle giggle* Cough. excuse my immaturity Anyway for school, I admit, I love to look nice. I like getting compliments. I don't go all out with dresses and skirts, just not for me. No dresses at all, maybe the occasional jean skirt but that's it. I put on a little bit of makeup, but not too much. I do my hair nice, but not like prom style! You spend most of your life in school, make impressions on people.... being well dressed is just part of it, for me. Nic

Exactly!! ^^^
I do a little make up, some skirts, heels occasionally, Curl my hair too. But it doesn't take forever , maybe 20 minutes, 30 minutes if I'm experimenting.

I'm in college, and the prof is lucky that I'm concious (lets not talk about the 3pm class I dropped last semester because I wouldn't wake up in time). So I don't worry much about what I wear to class. I see a lot of people come in there pj's, especially to morning classes.
Oh, and someone mentioned having a ton of flip-flops... congrats, you'll have the best collection of the most stylish shower shoes when you get to college. You will never look at flip-flops the same way again.

I admit, I do tend to like to look nice for school. In the beginning of last year, I told myself , "You're not just gunna get up in the morning, take a shower, throw the hair up, and put on any old pair of pants and a tee", but by the end of the year..Yup just didn't care anymore. I told myself I would like to wear more skirts in school... I only wore a skirt maybe 3 times the whole year. But, some days, I felt like I needed an energy boost so I would put on nice pants and a nice shirt and straighten my hair and do my make up really well. Those days I got a lot of compliments and positive looks and stuff, and it made me feel better. This year for school, I really want to try to look my best everyday because actually, looking good makes me feel good, and I have more energy then which means more energy to focus on work...In my middle school, they actually banned pajama pants because they promoted "sleep" they said..which was odd, but I kinda agree...PJ pants are so comfy that they can tend to make you a little tired!

Lololol @ Gel-e-beans, I just now had 79 when I read your post. I also agree with what you said. Being well-dressed is just apart of it for me too. Julinka--I guess I better keep a hold of my flipflops. AF Chicka--I agree. Looking good does make you feel more energized, positive and not cranky at school.

I don't dress up for school, but I *do* make an effort to look nice, because, like AFChicka said, when I look nice it makes me feel more positive and energized. Of course, looking nice to me means a cute pair of denim flares or shorts, a nice tee shirt, and my Vans. I pull my hair back into a ponytail everyday, because I can't stand it around my face, and my morning beauty routine is washing my face, brushing my teeth, putting on moisturizer, and the only make-up I use anymore is pressed powder and lip gloss. I won't wear dresses, because I strongly dislike wearing them - same thing with skirts, but that doesn't mean I look down on anyone who *does* wear them. So basically, I make an effort to look cute, but I'm not going to go overboard with it and spend an hour getting dressed and 3 hours putting on my face. That's just not me.

At school, I dress how I dress everyday, but a lot of people see that as "dressing up." The only thing I do different is put on make up, and I put on make up EVERY time I go out. I don't have to, but I have fun applying it and it makes me feel like I look nice. It's not for anyone else.
The reason I don't do that the rest of the time is that it's bad for skin.
Some days, I wear a t-shirt and baggy jeans, some days I wear my trench-dress with heels. I see neither as dressing up, it's how I'd dress anyway.

It takes me about 40 minutes to get ready: wash face, put in contacts, make bed, drink some water, get dressed, eat breakfast, brush teeth, brush hair, make lunch...
I would never wake up any earlier than I have to to straighten hair or put on make-up. That's such a waste of time, and no one really NOTICES. They're all so busy with their lives, is it really worth it for a couple people to think, "Oh she has nice hair" for a minute or two? I realize some of you do it for yourselves, but still, I would never waste sleeping time like that. I love sleeping.

<<I love sleeping>> Me too! yay! *high five as I smack you with a canoe paddle* muahahaha... Last year it took me like 20 minutes to get ready. I didn't put on makeup, I just threw on whatever was lying around, etc. Now I'm guessing it will take like a half an hour or so to get ready. Now I wear makeup and put a little more effort on my appearance. I don't really use that much makeup (moisturizer, some pressed powder, some eyeshadow and lipgloss...sometimes no eyeshadow and only mascara and lipgloss) and I typically pull my hair away from my face cuz I don't really like it in my face. I shower at night, so I have more sleepy time...I love my sleepy t...im..e...zZzZzZz......

I always look nice for school. I can't stand going to school nasty. Me and my cuz have always been really close and were really alot alike, and she's the same way. I don't dresss up fancy, but I like to look nice and special my typical outfit is:
Hair: Usually down, with pink streaks. ;D Face: Some powder, pink blush, pink eyeshadow, and im ready. Shirts: T-shirts, sweat shirts Pants: jeans, sweatpants, or jean skirts Jewelry: a cross necklace, lots of spikey bracelets and sparkly bracelets all across my arms.
Everybody says the way I dress "raWks!" but it's just the way I like to dress. ~jenny~

At my high school, not only do they ban PJ pants, but sweatpants as well!!! Why? Just like in your case..."they promote sleep and make it difficult to concretate on work". Excuse me, but I think the skintight, 3 sizes too small jeans some girls wear would make it more difficult to concretrate, seeing as the brain is fueled by blood and stuff which you do not get if your jenas are cutting off your circulation...shplar my school pisses me off sometimes.

I actually like looking nice for school... not like wearing skirts and dresses though (it's not my thing, really). Just presenting myself really well. It gives me that extra confidence which makes the day seem a lot better. I don't do anything too special though. I just pick out decent clean clothes, do my hair, put on some makeup, put in my contacts, and a spray of body mist, and I'm good to go. But there are days when I put in that little extra bit of effort, and I get compliments for it. That can be a good feeling when you're feeling down.
