Nikki - I know what ya mean about protein disorders...I developed one when I first went vegetarian. I didn't have the time or motivation to calculate grams of protein and stuff, and I ended up being constantly tired. However, if you ever wanna go back to being veggie, try what AngelPrincess said about the protein supplements. Also, try to buy foods that are easy to make but high in protein, and snack on high protein stuff. Just a thought. Stepharoola - I'm not really sure where your father is coming from as far as vegetarianism being against the Bible. The only thing that I can think of is that, in Genesis, the Lord says that humans have domination over the animals...but as far as I know, there's nothing in there that says not eating meat is wrong. I'm a dedicated Christian and I don't see anything bad in being vegetarian. However, to each his own, and you should respect your dad's wishes if he sticks with that. Good luck in convincing him! And if you really want to become a vegetarian, do a lot of research about sources of nutrition and protein and stuff. It takes dedication, but if you're serious about it, you might be able to sway your parents. Good luck!

I'm a vegetarian, and have been for a little over a month now. What got me to convert from being carnivore to veg was this handy booklet that I got for free from TFW. If you'd like to order it (it's free, no cost) the link is www.teenfreeway.com/peta/veggie1.htm-¤Candolio¤-

I'm vegan, and I have been for around 7 months now. I was vegetarian for about 2 years before that.

Vegan is when you eat NO animal products (eggs, milk, cheese etc), right? Why would you go vegan instead of veggie? I mean, those products are a normal thing in animals. It's not like you're torturing then or anything. I'm just wondering.
I'm not veggie or vegan. Although the way my parents cook steaks is always really weird so I always imagine them Mooing at me so I can't eat steaks. I do like burgers and ham/bacon though. I don't think I could go w/o meat.

^^ Yup you have what vegan is right. I'm not really vegan because I have a stand against eating those products. I developed a lactose intolerance, so I can't eat milk or cheese, and I really think eggs are gross. So I'm vegan. About a year, year and a half ago I started having reactions to milk and it didn't taste good anymore so I stopped drinking it, and around when I became "vegan" I stopped eating cheese because it was giving me problems.
