Drinking water is the best thing you can possibly do! Most of your body is made of it, so it makes sense that it is important to drink it. Water...
* Cleans out your system
* Flushes out impurities
* Helps with clear, smooth, hydrated skin
* Can help you sleep better
* Helps get rid of under-eye circles
You should drink 8 to 10 glasses a day. To find a closer estimate of how much you need, take your weight (in pounds), divide it in half, and divide that by 8 (amount
of ounces in a glass).
It is often hard to drink that much water, but you will find that once you do, you will notice a difference. Start by drinking one glass today, 2 tomorrow, 3 the next day, and so on. Carry a bottle of water with you at school, in your purse, or backpack. In fact, go get a glass right now and sip on it while you're at the computer. Keep a glass next to you while you're watching TV. Keep it with you all the time and you'll find that it's not as hard as it sounds.
Water also has some positive properties in relation to weight loss.
* Has 0 calories
* Makes you feel full
* Can help burn fat
Drinking very cold water will reportedly burn calories because your body has to burn them to get to its normal temperature, but I don't know if this is true.
Some people say they would rather drink Crystal Light or Diet Coke, which also have no calories, and are mostly water. However. Diet Coke is 99% water, but the other 1% is bad news. Coke contains caffeine, which is a diuretic. It dehydrates you, so you end up losing more water than you gain. If you absolutely MUST drink caffeinated beverages, try drinking 2 glasses of water for every 1 glass of caffeine. Water is good for you for more reasons than being calorie free.
Get away from the computer - go get some water! DRINK UP!
