Often you have things you really don't need anymore, but are reluctant to throw out. Maybe you just have that feeling that it's good for something, but you don't quite know what. Instead of starting a new thread for each one, post your questions and suggestions here.
Here's one to start:
What can I do with an old backpack? The main zipper is broken but other than that, it's perfect. It's not worth it to replace the zipper, but maybe it's good for something?

If I were you I'd use it as an organizer. Hand it up somewhere in your room and use the pockets for little things that really have no place. Another thing you could do is decorate the front pockets and put a big stuffed animal in it and use it as a decoration. It would be cute if you're into that sort of thing.

Thanks for the ideas, Katherine! I think I'll end up hanging it up somewhere to use for organizing things. I may just cut off the front pockets, which are still good, and put magnets on the back to make a locker organizer.
Unfortunately, this crafty board doesn't have much activity! So I'll post another and see if we can get something going here.
Any ideas of what to do with old t-shirts? Besides wearing them to bed, I know there have to be some good uses for the fabric!

One of my favorite ideas for old tees is to cut them into equal sized squares (say, 10x10 or so) and sew them together into a cute, comfy quilt! And if you back it with flannel, it'll be extra-warm and cozy. Does anyone have any strings of those old, 80s beads--you know, little pink hearts, gold circles, etc? Well, I have a really cute idea to use them. Get pictures of your friends or favorite celebs, and put a clothes pin on each one (try painting the clips with nail polish...it's really cute!). Then hot glue the clothes pins onto the old string of beads, and then tape them up on the bottom of a shelf or something! I've done three and they look grrrreat. Love, ~Mike

I had these really cute corderoy (brownish/green color....cute!) pants from the Gap that were just too small for me......but way too new to just throw out! The pants had a button instead of a snap. Here's what I did: I cut out the long strip of fabric from the top of the pants (where the button was) and then I sewed two of the ends together. It's now a wrist cuff! How AWESOME! And it buttons, too! How sweeet is that? ;D
