I've done a little bit of decoupaging, things such as boxes, picture frames (cut out squares of cardboard and decoupage), and magazine holders, which I will explain below... To make a magazine holder, all you need is a cereal box. Cut it diagonally, leaving a few inches on the bottom and top. I tried to make a diagram, but when I posted it, it didn't look the way it does when you're typing the message, so it's kinda hard to explain. Anyway, you should tape the top and bottom of the box where the openings are, just to re-inforce them. You will end up with two magazine holders. I made a bunch of them and decoupaged them. If you don't understand what I said above, PM me or tell me on this thread and I'll try to help you out

i used to make decoupaged boxes and stuff to put gifts in all the time. the fumes got to me after a while though. i never work in well-ventilated areas because my "workshop/dark room/studio" is a den in our basement.

What do you ppl use when you decoupage? Modge Podge, or glue? I just bought Modge Podge and I love it! It works SO well. It's really strong so the pics don't come off, and it gives it an awesome shiny finish. I've also heard that you can mix 1 part glue with 1 part water, and it's almost the same. How does the glue/water thing work compared to podge?

i LOVE decoupaging!!
I use Mod Podge, the matte kind. It works best for me, as I usually decoupage wooden boxes or frames using photo crops or newspaper cutouts, and the gloss finish kind of overwhelms the project.
I want to decoupage a stool or chair, but first I have to find the time. (And the chair.)

Ok, just checking. Well it's glueing things to something using glue or modgepodg till it's covered.

I've only done it once, and it turned out quite nicely. For art, we had to do theme boxes, so I went all out and bought good oak, brass hardware, and a really pretty cherry stain. For the inside, I printed out music notes off the internet, tea stained them, and decopaged them using Mod Podge's Matte finish (I was afraid the gloss would overwhelm it). It looks really good, I'm happy with it, and I got an A My only complaint is that the Mod Podge smells like someone puked, put it in a bottle and let it age, and suddenly released it

I made some picture frames from cardboard and decoupaged them, they're really cute! Also I recently just make some collages on regular sized paper and I keep them in my binders at school to look at when I'm bored lol
