With great musical as well as lyrical talent, the Deftones have truely prooved to be great musicians as well as worthy of holding a place as one of my favorite bands of all time. Chino Moreno is one of my favorite vocalists, as his soulful yet sometimes aggressive voice adds much to each song. Abe, Stef, Chi, and Frank as well have a way of creating true music that flows. They are all most definately great examples of true rock musicians.
What are the Deftones to you, and what do you think of their music?

I've only heard a couple of their songs. Those that I have downloaded are: 'Change (In the House of Flies)', and 'Back to School.' I haven't heard anything else, but I have to say their music is very powerful. I tend not to go for many hard rock bands like that (I'm more into the mellow stuff), but there's a lot of emotion there. 'Change' is great... It really speaks to me.

wooo woooooo wooooooooooooooooooo!!1
The Deftones rule! Their lyricism and guitar riffs are chunky yet intricate. Their songs actually do makes sense as well unlike stupid deathmetal and newmetal - die mf die i'll kill u, u hate me, i need to feel alive, lets slit our wrists, coz everyone hates me stuff.
Chino is one of those ppl i always wished i could be.
Unfortunately they are also a bit stuck up i have to admit.
My fave songs are - Digital Bath, Passenger, 7 Words and My Own Summer.

Eh, I've heard a few things about that. I wouldn't know anything about it myself, though. But fame can get to one's head, I suppose.
Still, I love their music and Chino is most definitely a great vocalist. At the moment, I'm eagarly awaiting their newest self-titled album. I believe is due out on May 20th or so. I can't wait.

Yay for the Deftones pulling a whole bunch of surprise club shows. I'm so there, considering this will probably be my only to chance to ever see them in a club again. They're an arena band now.
But anyway, I sort of stopped following when White Pony came out. Not really my cup of tea. Though the commerical hits from the album were good.

I've only heard Change and some other song I can't remember the name of by them.
They're nothing special, but they're not bad, I guess.

Umm... the Deftones being a bit stuck up. Well there's loads in mags about them not keeping it real sometimes and behaving like they're doing us a favour by playing for us. But I dunno. I've liked them for ages but I've never seen them live. Its just I dont get to go to big gigs coz they tend to be expensive and I dont generally got anyone to go with. Hopefully I shall see them oneday before they die out. You are right about Change - it isnt an amazing song. I recommend: Passenger Digital Bath 7 Words My Own Summer Be Quiet and Drive Back to School No Ordinary Love - the Sade cover All very good ...ranging from dark, edgy love songs to good old trashy metal. They tend to be very adult contemp tho and un-poppy. New album out soon!

I've never read much about the Deftones, but I do know that they have good music. I've heard that they are corperate punks, though...like Metallica. But it's all good, because the music's worth it.
My friend was yelling at me today because I'm possibly going to Summer Sanitarium this summer with my cousins and he didn't want me to go because they're a bunch of "corperate assholes".
Oh well!! It's worth the moshing. =)

Hey what does this 'corperate' thing mean? Does it mean they are a sell-out band?
