Yes, Elvis was a major influnce on the Beatles. When they were just a young start-up group Elvis is pretty much what the aspired to be. Check out about the Beatles time spent in Germany and Elvis's influence is pretty obvious.
Anywho, I just bought the his new Greatest hits album last night. (For $10 too!) It's awesome. Elivs was an amazing artist...it's too bad fame got to him the way it did.

Sorry, but I'm not an Elvis fan, and I thought he was ugly. I like one of his songs "A little less conversation".
Gosh, everybody follows these frickin trends. Everyone couldn't stand Elvis earlier (as in after he died about lalalala 90's generation, they'd be like "Ahh! Elvis sucked man!"), but when his birthday (or death date?)(as in, this years death date.)) came around, everybody loved him.

Actually, Elvis was very popular when he was alive. But I see what you mean, it's like when they die, they become cult heroes and are elevated to royalty. Look at Joh Lennon, Jimi Hendricks, and Jim Morrison. They were well liked and people bought thier music, but as soon as they were murdered or died, their music was suddenly priceless.

<<Gosh, everybody follows these frickin trends. Everyone couldn't stand Elvis earlier, but when his birthday (or death date?) came around, everybody loved him. Geesh...>> Now I resent that! I've always been an Elvis fan. Maybe that's cos my mum always had his records playing... but still! It wasn't just this anniversary that got most of us thinking about Elvis.

^ See? But you didn't follow a trend. You grew up on Elvis. And you like him. Actually, alot of people like Elvis just to like him. I'm not saying that you, busybodies, don't like him. I can see that you actually do. But, Elvis, he was almost gone and forgotten. Yes, he was VERY big back in the (40's?50's?) <<<Sorry, but I'm not an Elvis fan, and I thought he was ugly. I like one of his songs "A little less conversation".>>><---me I'm not an Elvis fan, actually, though I do like egh... maybe 5 or 6 of his songs. <<<But I see what you mean, it's like when they die, they become cult heroes and are elevated to royalty. Look at Joh Lennon, Jimi Hendricks, and Jim Morrison. They were well liked and people bought thier music, but as soon as they were murdered or died, their music was suddenly priceless>>> Yes, that was what I meant. They are famous even before they die, but when they die, no matter if people liked that person or not, they want they're music anyway. <<<Gosh, everybody follows these frickin trends. Everyone couldn't stand Elvis earlier, but when his birthday (or death date?) came around, everybody loved him. Geesh... >>> Maybe I went a little too far in that post. I made some editoral changes. ~jenn
