In the past Christina Aguilera has been compared to Britney, Jessica, and, although rare, I have seen a few comparisons to Mandy Moore. I downloaded her CD last week and its the only music I've listened to since. There is no way you can compare this CD to anything made by Britney, Jessica, or any of those girls. There is something on this CD for everybody and at least one song that you think was written for you. Has anyone heard it? The first single "Dirrty" is nothing like the CD at all, I don't know why she released as the first single when there are so much better songs on the CD. I think the only reason why it worked for her to change her image was that she was out of the spotlight for a while and she had only released one CD, the others were a Spanish CD, a Christmas CD, and a demo CD from when she was 15, she only really had one CD that made her into this "pop star", but I'm glad that her songs now are a lot more personal and things people can actually relate to.
Some of the best songs are "cruz" "soar" "keep on singing my song" "the voice within" (that one is amazing!) "i'm okay" "beautiful" (which is her second single) "loving me for me" and "walk away", and all the other songs are amazing as well, those are just SOME of my favorites.
What do you guys think?

*snickers loudly*
I agree completely. She's a striptease and her album is not a way of expressing herself- it's a way to get rich.

According to Christina, her song "Dirrty" is about having a good time, and being yourself. Or...something like that, anyway
....HA. I laugh.

I downloaded quite a few of the other songs you listed. I like all the "slow" ones... I don't like "Beautiful" that much. But I like "I'm Okay" "The Voice Within" and "Cruz" especially. It shows off her amazing voice, which I've always admired.
You're right; her single Dirrty gives people a different impression of her album...

I know many people don't like her because of her new image and if she couldn't sing I would agree, but she has an amazing voice that can't be denied and is showed off it songs like "cruz" and "the voice within". She isn't just another Britney, because Britney, IMO, can't sing, and Christina can. I think thats the difference between the two, while they are both trying to grow up, one's fans won' except her because she has grown up to fast (and also has no talent), and one's fan's are very supportive because she actually can sing, very well, and because she took time off to write her own songs about personal things that happened in her life. Songs like "I'm okay" are about her mother being beaten by her dad when she was little and how that affected her, its a truely haunting song, but one of my favorites because of emotion that she put into it. "Dirrty" was about her turning 21 and enjoying the clun scene while she took a break from the stardom. It is totally different from the album, and in a way doesn't really fit in with the rest of the songs, but I guess it has its place. The songs aren't all pop that are actually only maybe 2 that really are the rest are from all different genres. If you judge Christina by her new image or by her CD title (which is very true, she isn't being someone else now she is being her self, and the songs, which she wrote, are very much about her and her life and are extremely personal) you aren't giving her a chance and are missing out on this talent. I know many people don't like her cause of her past pop image and now don't like her because of her new image and they think her music will reflect it, but that is untrue, this CD is amazing, one of the best I've heard, complete with 16 songs, interludes, and a song that was made for everyone. I truely encourage everyone to download these songs: The Voice Within, Loving me for me, Cruz, Soar, Keep on Siging my Song, Walk Away, Fighter, and I'm okay. Once you have heard any one of these then judge her, but don't judge her based on her image or CD title. Listening to songs like The Voice Within (which I'll say it again, is AMAZING!), Loving me for me, and cruz truely showcase her voice. Then there are songs like walk away, fighter, and i'm okay which are more personal but still amazing. And the rest are just as beautiful and were each made not only for her but for her fans as well, because I know I found many songs on the CD that are like my story, and thats not just me that found that, many other people have.
I don't believe it is fair to judge her before you hear her new music, even when I was debating how much I thought Britney had no talent what-so-ever I downloaded a few of her songs just to see if I was correct and if any of her songs had anything that I liked in it. If you hear the songs and still don't like her, that is total different that just judging when you haven't heard. So I encourage everyone to download one or some of the songs that I have mentioned. A lot of my friends that used to hate her heard some of these songs and although they aren't exactly fans of her admit that she has an amazing voice. Even in reviews that I had read many people say while her new image is "nasty" that does not take away from her amazing voice and I haven't read one review, as of yet, that says otherwise from that fact.
I sound like I'm selling the CD or like on her record team the way I'm talking, but I really believe that she has an amazing voice, the songs are each made for someone out there, everyone can relate, there is all different kinds of music on this CD that everyone will like, and I don't think you should judge before you hear. How many times have I said that now? like 10 I know...but it really is true, at least I think that.

^^^ You do sound like you're on Christina's "street team", or whatever they're called. lol Speaking of street teams, you should all go and listen to FTTF Hint hint. haha. or... not. And no, I'm not REALLY on the FTTF street team. I don't think think they even have a street team. Anyway. Why do all threads about Christina Aguilera turn into Britney vs. Christina debates? ugh

I was completely dumbfounded at her new video and image. I never thought she would be the one pop princess to go "bad". I read her interview with Rolling Stone at the website. Here's the link: www.rollingstone.com/features/coverstory/featuregen.asp?pid=1276 **note: gross cover picture** It was actually pretty interesting, considering that she sounds bitchy, as always. Afterwards, I downloaded "I'm OK" (since the interviewer sounded impressed with it). I was astounded at it. She honestly surprised me with this track. I didn't think she had it in her to do a song like that, with her new oh so horny persona and all. So I came back here to check and see if anybody had said anything about her and had any song recommendations and obviously y'all did ;D. I listened to all of those songs, and I must say that I am impressed. I'm just confused with this whole slut fest thing she is carrying on with. Honestly, could she demean herself anymore? Is she just trying to get people's attention? It seems like she's just putting on a show. Or....maybe not? I don't know.... Anyhoo I imperatively recommend all of you to check out the rest of her songs, and give her at least a chance. You never know. Poor thing, thinking she actually looks good in that video.

I am not really a fan of her new image. But whatever floats her boat I guess. The girl has talent though. I think I'm gonna download "I'm Okay".
What is it with talented people changing their image be more (for lack of better word...) ho-ish? I mean, Whitney Houston did it, Mariah Carey did it...what's the deal?

The song Beautiful really touches me. I can relate to it SOOOO much! I've been battling with my self-image for as long as i can remember, and that song reallu makes me feel better for myself and feel like I'm not alone.
