Have you read any of his books? I read Sophie's world when I was, like, 8. I also read 'The secret of the cards' (at least I think that's the English name... I read it in Dutch) and right now I'm reading 'Maya'. I really like his books, althuogh sometimes they are sort of... hard to understand or just weird. lol. Anywhoo, have you read one of his books? And if so, what did you think of it? ~*Esther*~

Oooh, I love his books! I read those three, and I think the card one is the best. Maya is hardest to understand (I didn't get it, anyway), Sophie's World drags on a bit, but with concentration it is a pleasure to read. I just finished another one about a man that sells story ideas to writers because he has an overflowing imagination - it's good too, though not the best. Interesting. But then, I think almost all of Gaarder's books are recommendable. Except "The Christmas Secret" (prob. wrong title, read them all in german) - I hated it because it was all about angels and god, and I have my ideas about religion, and they don't fit in with the Christian viewpoint of the book. Except that book though... you can't go wrong with the Gaarder. They're all imaginative, most leave you feeling v. confused, but it doesn't matter.
