After recently renting this film, I can safely say that this has become one of my favorite films of all time. A wonderfully brilliant movie with an equally intriguing story, it was all brought together by the terrific direction of Ron Howard. Based upon true events, A Beautiful Mind stars Russell Crowe as a brilliant mathematical genius who discovers he has been suffering from severe schizophrenia. I cannot say much more without giving a great deal of the story away, but there you have the basic taste of the film. It won four Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Adapted Screenplay. I couldn't be more pleased with its turnouts. It's just too bad Russell Crowe was not awarded Best Leading Actor [which I truly believe he deserved for such a difficult yet well-played role]. It is a most touching movie and one that I believe had a great impact on how I think about the world. Afterall, how would you feel if you one day realized that what you see everyday is "not gone, not dead, but had never been?" For those who may have seen this film, what did you think of it? And for those who have not, I highly encourage you to see this movie for yourself. I'm sure you will not be disappointed .

Ron Howard (he played Richie on 'Happy Days') did an excellent job doing this. I loved the movie. and I agree,Russell Crowe should have be awrded for 'Best Leading Actor'. It's the greatest movie I have ever seen also. With such a great 'endings' I want to rent it and watch it again.
