hehe, sorry about the title. Fill in what you like. Sorcerer's/Philosopher's So, what did you all think of the Harry Potter movie? If you've read the books before, did it meet up to your standard? What was your favorite part? Who was your favorite actor? Discuss it all here!! I absolutely adore the movie. It's my favorite. I first saw it on opening day, at the opening performance. It was a school trip. Since then, I've seen it on the big screen 4 more times, and watched in on my computer bunches more times. I thought all the people in the cast were perfect. The trio had great chemistry together. Ahh Daniel Radcliffe is so cute. ;)The Quidditch scene was soooo awesome. I was very pleased with the movie, and I can't wait for the next one to come out!! The DVD for this one comes out May 28th. There's going to be a whole lot of deleted footage, which is gonna be so cool! I can't wait!!! ;D

I really liked that movie! I thought the actors, especially the kids, were really good. Most of the things were sort of like I had imagined them, except that I thought Hermione had brown, curly hair and that Harry's aunt had blonde hair. It was too bad that they had to leave so many parts out, but I guess if they had put everything in the movie, it would be a reeeeeeeeeeaaaaaally long movie. Ooh, I want to see all that deleted stuff too!

I absolutely love Harry Potter! The movie is awesome. My only complaint would be that they left out my favorite character Peeves. He would have made the movie even better.

I really didn't like the movie... I think it sucked. Harry Potter goes against my religion in many ways (witchcraft, wizardy, sorcery, lords, lord voldemort, etc.) so it sucked. When I read the books I enjoyed them, but I found that my interest in the bible lessended, nothing I want. Well, it sucks and that's just my opinion...
cary on with your conversation now...

Can we stop with the hating? So you don't like it and you have a right to not like it but what's with the harsh words? Couldn't you have just said that "it goes against my religion so i don't like it"? There's not reason for the word 'suck' to be used.

A simple innocent children's FICTION book is against your religion, yet saying the word "suck" must be okay right? *rolls eyes*
I was wondering if you hate any children's book/movie that involves magic?
What do you think about Mickey Mouse? There's a Mickey Mouse in a *SORCERERS*(something you just mentioned that's against your religion) outfit using magic in a commercial, and I had the plushie. Yet noone of any religion seemed to protest THAT, yet Harry Potter is protested.
Something isn't right here.. .

I have no hating against anything, it's just that what I've learned in church is that witcraft/wizardy/sorcery is wriong. Like I said, it's just my opinion. I enjoyed the books but what I've heard about them... I just don't like them anymore. Anyone is entitled to their opinions, that is what razz/former-razz is for, to voice your opinions. On the other hand, I am sorry I said the word "sucks", I guess you're right there, I should'nt have said that... sorry. P.S. Any hating or fighting and I will have to lock the topic... and I definetly don't wanna do that! This is a nice clean conversation... sorry about the disruption, sorry again. I just don't wanna meet alot of people on here on this thread and have the 1st oppinion be that I'm some kind of a mean person or something. If I sount like that, I dint mean to... Sorry if I made you mad.... ~Chloe~

For all Christians who want to read this about Harry Potter: All of this was happening in the decade of the 1960’s when witchcraft was just starting to come out of the broom closet. It was during that decade of the 1960’s, in the year 1966, that a woman named J.K. Rowling was born. This is the woman who has captivated the world in this year of 2000 with four books known as the "Harry Potter Series." These books are orientational and instructional manuals of witchcraft woven into the format of entertainment. These four books by J.K. Rowling teach witchcraft! I know this because I was once very much a part of that world. Witchcraft was very different in the 1960’s. There were a lot fewer witches, and the craft was far more secretive. At the end of that spiritually troubled decade, I was miraculously saved by the power of Jesus Christ and His saving blood. I was also delivered from every evil spirit that lived in me and was set free. However, as I began to attend fundamental Christian churches, I realized that even there witchcraft had left its mark. Pagan holidays and sabats were celebrated as "Christian holidays." As time went on, I watched the so-called "Christian" churches compromising and unifying. I also watched with amazement as teachings from Eastern religions and "New Age" doctrine began to captivate congregations. It was a satanic set-up, and I saw it coming. Illuministic conspirators were bringing forth a one-world religion with a cleverly concealed element of occultism interwoven in its teachings. In order to succeed in bringing witchcraft to the world and thus complete satanic control, an entire generation would have to be induced and taught to think like witches, talk like witches, dress like witches, and act like witches. The occult songs of the 1960’s launched the Luciferian project of capturing the minds of an entire generation. In the song "Sound Of Silence" by Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, we were told of seeds that were left while an entire generation was sleeping, and that the "vision that was planted in my brain still remains."It was the Communist revolutionary Lenin who said, "Give me one generation of youth, and I will transform the entire world." Now an entire generation of youth has been given to a woman named J.K. Rowling and her four books on witchcraft, known as the Harry Potter Series. As a former witch, I can speak with authority when I say that I have examined the works of Rowling and that the Harry Potter books are training manuals for the occult. Untold millions of young people are being taught to think, speak, dress and act like witches by filling their heads with the contents of these books. Children are obsessed with the Harry Potter books that they have left television and video games to read these witchcraft manuals. The first book of the series, entitled "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone", finds the orphan, Harry Potter, embarking into a new realm when he is taken to "Hogwart’s School of Witchcraft and Wizardry." At this occult school, Harry Potter learns how to obtain and use witchcraft equipment. Harry also learns a new vocabulary, including words such

as "Azkaban", "Circe", "Draco", "Erised", "Hermes", and "Slytherin"; all of which are names of real devils or demons. These are not characters of fiction! How serious is this? By reading these materials, many millions of young people are learning how to work with demon spirits. They are getting to know them by name. Vast numbers of children professing to be Christians are also filling their hearts and minds, while willingly ignorant parents look the other way. The titles of the books should be warning enough to make us realize how satanic and anti-christ these books are. The afore mentioned title of the first book, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone", was a real give away. The second book was called "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets", while the third book was entitled "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban." Sadly enough, this blatant witchcraft has been endorsed by well-known and respected "Christian" leaders, such as Dr. James Dobson and Chuck Colson, who have proven themselves to be modern day Judas Iscariots. Nothing could be more obvious than that Harry Potter books are pure witchcraft and of the devil. The "Christian" leaders, however, defend them by saying that good magic always wins and overcomes evil magic. This is the oldest con game ever hatched out of hell. As a real witch, I learned about the two sides of "the force." Apparently, so do many "Christian" leaders. When real witches have sabats and esbats and meet as a coven, they greet each other by saying "Blessed be", and when they part, they say "The Force be with you." Both sides of this "Force" are Satan. It is not a good side of the force that overcomes the bad side of the force, but rather it’s the blood of Jesus Christ that destroys both supposed sides of the satanic "Force." High level witches believe that there are seven satanic princes and that the seventh, which is assigned to Christians, has no name. In coven meetings, he is called "the nameless one." In the Harry Potter books, there is a character called "Voldemort." The pronunciation guide says of this being "He who must not be named." On July 8 at midnight, bookstores everywhere were stormed by millions of children to obtain the latest and fourth book of the series known as "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire." These books were taken into homes everywhere with a real evil spirit following each copy to curse those homes. July 8th was also the 18th day (three sixes in numerology) from the witches’ sabat of midsummer. July 8th was also the 13th day from the signing of the United Religions Charter in San Francisco. Now we have learned that the public school system is planning to use the magic of Harry Potter in the classrooms making the public schools centers of witchcraft training. What does God have to say about such books as the Harry Potter series? In the Bible in the book of Acts, we read the following in the 19th chapter, verses 1820: "And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds. Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. So mightily grew the Word of God and prevailed."

" These books are orientational and instructional manuals of witchcraft woven into the format of entertainment. These four books by J.K. Rowling teach witchcraft! "
I am both a Wiccan and a big fan of the Harry Potter books and I'm here to say that these books are in no way a manual in witchcraft. Far from it. Sure some terms used in the books are magikal terms such as divination etc. but they don't teach witchcraft to the people who read them.
"However, as I began to attend fundamental Christian churches, I realized that even there witchcraft had left its mark. Pagan holidays and sabats were celebrated as "Christian holidays." "
This is true. In the early days of Christianity the religious leaders made the Christian coinside with the Pagan holidays so that they would gain more popularity.
"In order to succeed in bringing witchcraft to the world and thus complete satanic control, an entire generation would have to be induced and taught to think like witches, talk like witches, dress like witches, and act like witches. "
Um...witchcraft or wicca or whatever your prefer to call it has nothing to do with satan. Wiccans don't believe in satan, he is a creation of the Christian religion.
"As a former witch, I can speak with authority when I say that I have examined the works of Rowling and that the Harry Potter books are training manuals for the occult. "
I don't know what kind of witchcraft this person studied but like I said earlier the Harry Potter books are in no way training manuals for the occult.
"Children are obsessed with the Harry Potter books that they have left television and video games to read these witchcraft manuals."
Is that really such a bad thing? Here the kids are leaving television and video games to READ a book. I think that's a fantastic thing. And besides a lot of stuff kids see on TV and play in their video games is a lot worse then what they read in Harry Potter books.
"Harry also learns a new vocabulary, including words such as "Azkaban", "Circe", "Draco", "Erised", "Hermes", and "Slytherin"; all of which are names of real devils or demons. These are not characters of fiction! <br>How serious is this? By reading these materials, many millions of young people are learning how to work with demon spirits. These are not demons. I'm sorry I'm not familiar with all of the names outside of the book but I do know that Hermes was is Greek mythology a messanger to the gods. And Circe is once again just another character in Greek mythology. I don't see how this teaches kids to work with demon spirits. I learned about these 2 as well as many others in school way before Harry Potter was even a thought in J.K. Rowling's head. They are just characters of myths, not demons. ~On a little bit of a side note, is Disney's movie 'Hercules' then also teaching children how to work with demon spirits?
"As a real witch, I learned about the two sides of "the force." Apparently, so do many "Christian" leaders. When real witches have sabats and esbats and meet as a coven, they greet each other by saying "Blessed be", and when they part, they say "The Force be with you." Both sides of this "Force" are Satan. "
Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places but never in my years of study in research have I ever read about 'the force'. And I've never heard as part of a sabbat/esbat someone saying 'the force be with you'. That's Star Wars not Wicca.
"High level witches believe that there are seven satanic princes and that the seventh, which is assigned to Christians, has no name. In coven meetings, he is called "the nameless one." In the Harry Potter books, there is a character called "Voldemort." The pronunciation guide says of this being "He who must not be named." "
Once again, Wiccans/Witches don't believe in satan. Therefore there can't be seven satanic princes when we don't even believe in one....

"Now we have learned that the public school system is planning to use the magic of Harry Potter in the classrooms making the public schools centers of witchcraft training. "
I've never heard this. I'm pretty sure that it's just a bunch of crap. I mean, how many public schools do you know of that are centers of witchcraft training?
"What does God have to say about such books as the Harry Potter series? So mightily grew the Word of God and prevailed." "
No offence to any of the Christians out there but I don't hold a lot of stock in the Bible. I didn't when I was Christian myself. Here's a short little reason y: it was written by men, the books that are actually in the Bible were not just written one after another after another and then they had the Bible there were a bunch of stories/books that religious leaders looked through and chose to put in the Bible. A lot of books were left out like the Gospel of Thomas for example. Also the Bible has been translated over and over and over and over again. In any language there is no such thing as a direct translation so a lot of the original infomation and meanings of the stories in the Bible may have been changed completely. Etc. etc. etc. But those are just my opinions.
"Their good books but they are definetly bad to read "
I totally respect your opinion because everyone has the right to think what they want and to voice what they think and I will fight for this right forever but I still don't understand your logic. They're good but they're bad? It just doesn't make sense to me.

Yea! Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone came out on DVD/VHS today! I went right out and bought it naturally. Grrr, the first DVD that I bought didn't work so I had to take it back and get a new one. But all is good now. I love this movie. And Sean Biggerstaff is really really cute.
