ever since i was a little kid, i've been obsessed with horror flicks. they've never phased me or given me nightmares, i've just sort of had this sick fascination with them. maybe i'm just crazy but do any of you love horror films? what are your favorites? my absolute favorite would have to be The Shining, the original one with Jack Nicholson... that movie is psychotic, i love it. i especially love horror movies that deal more with the crazy psyche of the human mind, rather than just gore gore gore.

Hmm, now I thought The Shining, the movie by Stanley Kubrick was too strange to be scary. Then again, even Stephen King can't direct the screenplays to his own books. He even hates the process. The ABC presentation of The Shining on TV a few weeks ago was alot closer to the way I pictured everything when I read the book.
Other than that I don't really get into horror flicks. They've become too predictable. If the music stops, watch out. If there's a strange sound, the girl in her most revealing underwear will go to investigate it. if it's a guy, you'll see him impaled on a door near the end of the movie.
I would like to recommend The Changeling with George C. Scott. No blood, but that is a scary flick.

oh man! i love horror movies too! my mom says that it's just a phase and i'll grow out of it! but i don't think so! they never scare me. most of them either put me to sleep or make me laugh cuz they are so fake. i also like freak shows (that's what my family calles them. i think that they're better than the ones they watch!) some of my favorites are:
[/li][li]Beyond Belief: Fact or fiction (TV show) [/li][li]Bless the Child [/li][li]The Glass House (that wasn't really scary though) [/li][li]Don't Say a Word [/li][li]The Haunting
those are all i can think of right now....but i'll be back!

The ABC presentation of The Shining on TV a few weeks ago was alot closer to the way I pictured everything when I read the book. i'm pretty sure the ABC presentation of the movie was a lot more true to the book, because i have also read it. i think that was the point of the remake... to make it a lot closer to what actually happened in the book. i may have actually liked the ABC presentation of it better if i had not seen the orignal first... i just can't get how wonderfully jack nicholson played a psycho out of my head, so it makes me a bit biased against the remake. and you're right... the movie is very, very strange. i've always been into psychological thrillers though. not to mention the fact that stanley kubrick produced it... he's a bit of a weirdo himself. i've heard the clockwork orange is pretty insane. i'd like to read the book before i see the movie though. i also agree with you in that horror films have become much too predictable. if i watch a new horror flick, i see the first 10 minutes and predict the entire thing. i've freaked my boyfriend out a few times doing that. i like the cheesey, horrible effects, old horror movies too. i loved the night of the living dead series, friday the 13th, jason, halloween... ahh. good stuff.

OMG !!
Has NEone seen The Ring ? I have'n't seen a movie that scary in a long time, if not ever. I don't wanna spill it for Neone who hasn't seen it, but if horror flicks is your thing, you need to catch this flick.
