OMG !!! I was hella scared. I saw it with my cousin and her friend and a these two other guys. They guys were a lot more scared then I was. At the end when Samara killed Nick, I think thats his name, was terrorible. My heart skipped a beat when she came out the T.V. By far that is the scariest movie I've ever seen in my life. That does deserve a 10 on the fear factor level. I had to sleep with the light on afterwards. We were hysterical afterwards, I mean I couldn't even potty without someone in there with me. Souds kiddish, but shyd, thats how scared I was. But now I'm fine, and want to see it again.

I loved that movie, but quite honestly, on a scale from 1-10 on the scariness level, I'd have to give it a 2. The way people were talking about it, I thought I'd be pissing myself for a week, but it didn't scare me at all, so I was kind of disappointed in that. However, it *was* creepy, which is better than nothing. So all in all, good movie, but not nearly as scary as everyone made it out to be. But that's just me.

I'd have to say like 9.5. Hehe. I don't want to say 10 because I wasn't scared to the point where I screamed (that's extremely scaredness). I'm typically not much of a horror movie person, but I wanted to see it because EVERYONE was talking about how scary it was ... and then I got curious. Honestly though, it really creeped me out a lot... like, Samara especially. I saw the movie awhile ago but I still have a clear picture of her in my head and it freaks me out. My friend and I saw it at like 3:00PM so it wouldn't be too dark outside when we left ... otherwise it would've been way freakier. I actually had time to get myself back to reality, and I was able to get to sleep that night! It was a GOOD movie though, plot-wise. I wouldn't want to see it again though ... just because. Yeah. Hehe. There were parts when I said, "OH SHIT!" really loud... haha. And I had my ears plugged for nearly the whole movie.

I loved this movie and it's become one of my favorite films out there (along with it's Japanese inspiration, Ringu), but I have to admit: I didn't find it frightening in the least. I give it a 2 on that scale at best. I guess I'm just not fazed by all that many horror films anymore. I've been watching them since I was five, so I suppose this could explain why I found The Ring more or less tame - contrary to most people's opinions - albeit intriguing.
However, even I have to admit that it was a very eerie film, if nothing more. I was greatly impressed with it. The atmosphere was so brooding, so suspensful, and the imagery was put together almost flawlessly. I especially loved the way the film makers were able to pull off The Tape, with all its odd and surreal elements and effects. They really made not only a great remake, but a great movie all on it's own. Well...I still think Ringu was a little more "organized" in the plot department and I did prefer Sadako over Samara; but otherwise, both movies were awesome. I'd definitely see them both again.

I'd give it a 9 on a scale from 0-10. The first time I saw it, I went with a friend, and it was storming outside. It got to the part where she falls in the well, and the girl who I was with, her mom called. She said there was a tornado warning, and she was gonna come pick us up. So I had to leave the movie without knowing what happened! I was so mad. Then when it came out on video my mom bought it, and then I watched it. I was soooooo scared when she came out of the TV at the end, to kill Noah. But I'm still confused.....why did both people die with their mouth's open all weird? I dont understand....does anyone want to explain...?

^^^ Though it's pretty much been confirmed that all of the victims in the film died of fright, we all can safely say that there is no way a corpse can get like that on it's own.
I've heard somewhere that because of Samara's strange "powers", she probably had the ability to manipulate or alter the appearance of physical objects - this includes her victims and would explain the strange alteration of their faces - as if they had been submerged and decaying under wellwater for seven days (in a way experiencing Samara's past pains). So, since Samara could basically make the corpses look any way she wanted them to, this gives a lot of possibilities. Who knows? Maybe she was even doing this while they were still alive, adding to their death-cause along with their fear.
This is all just a theory, of course, but it pretty much sums up most people's thoughts on what happened.
