Cloning- a very controversial subject. Where do you stand on this issue? Is it unacceptable, or do you just not care?

I think cloning with the intent to have someone eventually give birth to the clone is ethically wrong. We have way too little data on the possible effects on the clone down the line.
On the other hand, I don't have problems with cloning tissue for medical reasons, as long as the patients involved are well-aware of any risks. (the difference being that they can give consent and the yet-to-be created baby can't)

[off-topic] Yep, I screwed up again. I had intended to make this thread specifically about human cloning, but for whatever reason, I didn't get around to it. Oops.[/off-topic] There are many unknown risks associated with human cloning, but they're only applicable to the individual cloned, not to general human health.

I don't know where I really stand on it?
Did you all see the picture of the cat, cc, that they successful cloned.
Actually.. I think cloning's pretty freaky. How did someone actually come up with a theory of something like this and put it to the test and actually get positive results? It's amazing. But it's scary..

i feel that cloning for like medical reasons is ok but if you want to clone yourself i feel its totally wrong every1 is unique and performs a special function in this world imagine if we were all the same life would be dull and imagine if some1 that was bad got control of clonning !!!
it reminds me of a book i read it was A brave new world by adouls huxley though i didnt like it that much he had a point
thats what i think

'Ey, I read that book! But in like 6th grade, so I don't remember what it was about. Maybe I'll reread it. I think cloning is a no-no. Really...what's the point? I can understand all the scientific and moral arguments, but honestly I just think a sickeningly large percentage of science experiments are useless (and many of them are horribly cruel...for example, P&G's tests on animals, when they already know the results--it's like they enjoy torturing the animals. ). Anyway, got a little off subject, sorry. But my take on it is the same as space travel...why waste the money and manpower? What's it gonna do for us?

I believe that cloning for medical reasons is ok. For example if someone needs a new heart then it would be a good thing to clone a heart for a person. But I disagree with cloning people. It's unethical as well as unnecissary. I mean, our means of procreation right now are just peachy.

I'm all for cloning for medical reasons. A British couple is cloning their two-year-old son so the baby can provide him with matching bone marrow needed to save his life. <<Did you all see the picture of the cat, cc, that they successful cloned.>> Yes, I thought it was so cute! <<every1 is unique and performs a special function in this world imagine if we were all the same life would be dull>> I'm pretty sure clones won't be identical personality-wise. They're likely to be unique, like everyone else. <<For example if someone needs a new heart then it would be a good thing to clone a heart for a person.>> So, by doing that, you'd just be cloning a person and taking the heart. Isn't that a little ignorant?
