I don't think it's right how some parents will hit/harm there kids for 'doing something wrong' with the child doesn't even know better.
But if the kid *did* know better than to do something,I still don't think they should be hit either way. ..Maybe yelled at...But definately not hit or anything physical.

Exactly my point. Spanking definitely serves a purpose there. A two-year-old may not remember a five minute long lecture about how touching a hot stove burner is dangerous, but if you give him or her a spanking, they will most likely remember it. I also think that it is ok to give your kid like a soft slap on the butt if he/she is being a real pain in the ass and is doing something that he/she knows is wrong.
