Rape

That 1 our of 3 statistic is very scary. Anyways, I remember reading about some facts on rape.
*Most of the women that were victims had long hair so they can be easily grabbed from behind. *If you are in an empty elevator with a suspicious person make eye contact with them and try to make conversation. (this shows you can identify them in a lineup) *Always trust your gut instinct. If you feel something is wrong don't walk or go out alone find someone to go with you *When one rapist was asked if the victim had fought back would he/she left the victim alone...he/she said yes. Most rapists are looking for a quick easy target *If grabbed from behind pinch them. A good place to pinch is underneath the arm. Or do anything else as long as you show that you're not going to let them get away with this.
Well, I got this info from an email which had even more info that the researchers got from asking rapists themselves. I would post more but I don't have the email anymore, and that was all I could remember.

Linkin, your thingy was very helpful. I must remember all the pinchy and groin things..I'm scared of being raped but I feel a little better knowing this now.
My mom was once captured when she was on an 11-mile run (she was big in running in college) and this man made her take of her shirt, and my mom is a big talker, so she started talking to him, saying like "Why are you doing this? Is it going to make you feel better? You're just going to screw up your life more." and stuff like that, and he let her go. She then found out that he had already killed and raped 9 women and she would have been the next victim *shudder* I am SO glad she talked, otherwise I wouldn't be here today.

"*Most of the women that were victims had long hair so they can be easily grabbed from behind." Untrue. Rape victims have short hair, long hair, medium hair... my point is, you aren't safe just because of your hair.

Rape

Sex is supposed to be sacred and special, not something violent with a stranger who'd just as soon kill you when it's all over True, however most rape survivors were raped by someone the know (at least slightly) even if you have short hair, wear old baggy clothing and carry pepper spray you still may be a victim of rape. The number one thing that rapists look for is a women (or man) who looks unaware of there surroundings. In society (it seems) a women who survives a rape is a "Victim of rape" yet a wommen who is mugged gets praised as a survivor.

OMG, I'm not sure if I should even be posting this, but I guess for some support, I'll go ahead.. First, let me just tell whats-your-face, that not actual *rape* turns me on.. It's more like forcing you to do something. Don't ask. I can't help that. But, even though that sounds strange, it's going to sound more weirder when I get done.. ok, I was at my friend's, Cilla's, house on New Year's eve because she was having a party.... Well there was this guy... Well, all of a sudden he got on top of me and started kissing me and then forced me to give him head... And, if that sounds bad, I called my bf, Jay, (who was supposed to come over, but decided to go to a friends house and get drunk), and all he had to say was "It happens" and started laughing......... wow.. i feel so special....

That one in three statistic is frightining. I just watched this movie on lifetime about a college rape. The most shocking thing was that after the rape he did not think that he did anything wrong. Infact he claimed that she made the first move. I know this hapens more in real life, The guys think the girl was "asking for it" or "Playing hard to get."
