themes...don't get too caught up in a theme cuz then its hard to change later. Just pick one colour u love and then choose one or two accent colours. For example...we just did my best frien'ds room...the walls and fabric is red but the furniture and bed are goldy/yellow with wrought iron accessories...Pillows are a great inexpensive way to add to a room. I also recommend flowers (fake i guess) and either framed pics of friends or some real art on the walls

I'm going to decorate my room in a fairy theme (yea, I guess you could say I'm obsessed, lol). I have fairy figurines and dolls I'm going to put up, and I'm going to paint my walls a silvery-blue. I'm going to get a white faux fur rug, and put sheer fabric around things. Anyone else have any ideas???

iNsAnE.cAnAdIaN also for your Mexican theme (if you want your room to look like some here in New Mexico) you can get some Mexican pottery and some crosses (everyone has them here) Also keep the colors in your room natrul, think desert colors. Or paint them very bright and get colorful wooden figures of animals. You can also paint your door frame and windows blue (to keep the wicths out) And if you can find little Mexican dolls or chile ristras(sp?) that would look really good. Also pictures and figures of Our Lady of Guadalupe (the virgin Mary) and any of the Catholic saints. My room doesn't look like that and I really don't know any teenagers who would want a room like that but it looks really pretty. Check out Behind Adobe Walls. And if anyone does their room like that post and tell me what it looks like.

^ that's how my room is I got some blue material and made a canopy for my bed and I made navy blue curtains with gold star materail on the sides. For my closet I took out the door and covered it with sliver materal with sliver stars over that. My bedspread has moons and stars on it and I found a bunch of great throw pillows.

My room doesn't have a theme...! *feels like a dork* But it is still cool. You know what I love right now? Those Lifesavers ads. Have you guys seen 'em? They're like, "Cherry, always the popular one." "Butter rum, the old favorite." "Monster sour, the trouble maker." etc. They're really cute. If you see them, send them to me! heh. Or tell me what magazine they're in...yeah. I'm considering going to a bus station and asking to buy some of the big ones. Do you think they'd let me? *considers* Love, ~The Kitten~

I finally decided to redecorate my room. Right now, the walls are light blue with white clouds on the ceiling. In a couple of weeks, I'm going to paint the ceiling white, one wall a burgundy/red color, and the other three walls a medium purple color. I just got some artwork to go on the wall above my bed too--a drawing of Big Ben and another drawing of the Eiffel Tower. Then, I'm going to get sheer scarves and drape them on a window rod (forgot what it's called ) above my window and then drape some more carves above the end of my bed. I think it'll look purdy. ;D

Like hildibird, I'd advise everyone not to get too caught up in themes. They look really cool and put together, but they get boring after a while, and it's really hard to change. Take this from a person who's had every theme from ocean to celestial to modern. Now my room doesn't really have a theme and I like it that way. It's kind of a mixture of everything - more like a reflection of my personality. I have lots of color, cool pictures, etc. I love it.

I need help. My room is going to be painted in less than two weeks, and I'm haing second thoughts about the color. At first I was set on a turquoise color, but now I think that'll be too bright. Then I was thinking about black, but then I decided I wouldn't be able to find anything because my room is small, and that would make it seem smaller. I really can't decide what I want. All I know is that I'm looking for something bold and vibrant (but not yellow). Any colors I think of I like, but then see a problem with them. My room is currently white, and I'm not leaving them that way. Any suggestions would be welcome

^^ Hmm, that's what happened with me. I decided to go purple and red (one wall red, three purple) and every time I told people that, they looked squemish, not to mention my mom saying "Are you sure it won't be too dark?". I almost decided not to do those colors. But I did, and I like them. My room doesn't seem too dark either. What my point is, is that don't have second thoughts, it's just paint. Granted it can take awhile and it can be a big pain in the butt, but think about the outcome. I had problems painting my room (the red needed 3 coats, took a whole day for just one wall), but I am even happier with the results. And if you decide you don't like the outcome, paint it again. You may not want to, but I think it's worth the risk. Sorry if you don't like my advice, but that's my suggestion. Good luck, and let us know how it went!

I like orange. That'd be a good wall color, dontcha think? ;D Or. . . do one wall each a different color. Or you know what really looks good on walls? Maroon. But just do two of the walls (opposites, of course) in that color. They'll be accent walls. Do the others a paler color, maybe an off-white or a tan, or something more vibrant if you like. Just an idea.

I love these ideas! For the faery room, I have a couple of ideas for you... Glitter paint, glitter fabrics...lots of glitter. Icy blue walls (and I usually hate blue walls, but if you get the right shade, it can look good) and lots of silver...for an ice princess sort of thing. You all are lucky. My mom says that I don't have a choice when it comes to my room. If she'd just let me decorate it the way I want to with my own money, I know it would turn out really well. But if we change it at all, she wants to wait until we have a million trillion dollars so that she can do everything at once. *sigh* I wanted an eclectic mix for my room, but since my mom won't go for that, here's what I want to do: A harem-themed sort of thing. In the colors sage, gold, and beige. My mom wants to get a wooden or marble floor in my room anyway, since my pets have pretty much destroyed the carpet. --A wooden bed (yeah, that's for when we have money) with tall, decorative posts. --A bedspread in one of those three colors, with a sheer lining over it in another of those three colors. --Lots of fancy pillows in those colors. --A gold, decorative curtain rod, with sheer sage, floor-length curtains. --Artwork would be things like wooden-framed African elephant sketches, or tigers...stuff like that. I love this idea, but it would require a lot of money. Anything is better than my room now, though. It's horrid, it really is. Oh, by the way...I have slightly off-white walls and trim in my room. Any suggestions on if I should leave them that color or paint them? I'm not even sure what colors I would use for paint, or if it would look weird (we have textured walls, too). Thanks in advance

i am moving to my new house in october. i really want to do just one wall totally devoted to ELVIS PRESLEY. I am going to buy these wooden letters from wal-mart and paint them gold. then on the indentions on the letters, get a gold or silver glitter glue thing and paint that. Then wall-to-wall pictures of the king. maybe i will write "the undisputed king of rock 'n' roll" or somethin also. idk yet. i am planning it now.
