Sounds like from reading some of the posts, it's not that bad . . . yet. In a few years the number of pop-ups are supposed to double anyway so why not prepare us for the future? I see in my crystal ball, an internet that will be nearly unusable with ads, spam and spyware.

I see in my crystal ball, an internet that will be nearly unusable with ads, spam and spyware. That's why major companies like AOL are adding their own pop-up blockers, and even Wal-Mart sells pop-up blocking software.

See, I don't see the point in pop-ups. Sure, you may get the 1 in 1000 users who actually click the good 1 in 1000 ads, but most people just minimize/exit out of them w/o looking at them. They just get so annying. ANyone wanna sum up what that article said so lazy me doesn't have to raed it? lol

I know, I have an ad blocker on my work computer. it slammed 31,000 ads. I'm tired of the Eternal Web one. I've seen it, not interested. Or the come-ons to make $35,000 a month by sitting on my butt and sending a letter out every two weeks. Yeah right, if that's true, I got some ocean front property near the Grand Canyon I'd like ta sell ya.

That's strange. I haven't had any pop up ads coming and I'm pretty sure I don't have an ad blocker. Weird...

I do have an ad zapper, but unfortunately I have to disable it when coming here. [Though sometimes I can get away with leaving it running. ] But anyway, I haven't noticed any more ads than usual, either. I've always gotten 2-3 different ones, that I minimize, and that's all I'm still getting. Guess I'll consider myself lucky that I'm not getting more than that. Of course, now that I've mentioned it, I probably jinxed myself, and I'll get slammed with pop-ups. Just you watch.

Guys, if you're using a pop-up ad blocker while on this site I have to ask you to disable it while you're on this site. PLEASE don't get your account deleted as a result of that. Thank you and have a nice day. *takes her admin hat off* Ok pop-up and pop-under ads are annoying, but think about it, we get free service because of it. I wouldn't complain if I were you - I certainly don't have the cash to shell out for joining messageboards.

It is weird because I haven't gotten ANY pop up ads, which is one less than what I usually get. We don't have an ad blocker either... Hmmm.

Could not be getting any because it is 1 AM..? That is highly possible. Many times ProBoards has so many page views they run out of ads in the late evening.
