I suppose my first job was rather unique. The summer I turned 14 I was hired to do research in the Iowa State University library on phytoremediation. I had to turn in a list of sources and copies of all the information I could find about phytoremediation with prarie grasses. I got $300 though!!
ps-phytoremediation=the use of plants to clean up hazardous waste sites.

I haven't had a real job yet, except for babysitting, which I hate. This may sound weird but I really really want to work at Petco someday. Or any job where animals are involved. The people at Petco are so nice and infomative. When I bought my first guinea pig and supplies the lady told us all about them, she showed us what we should and shouldn't buy, and she even gave us a four dollar discount on the bedding, and a 3 dollar discount on my piggy because I didn't have enough for a pigloo. Ahhh Petco is my favorite store. ;D ;D

My first job was walking dogs when I was 12 and 13. I got like $50 a week, too...woo. I actually just started a new job today, and I'm really excited about it. I work two hours a day, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays as a filing clerk. Six bucks an hour, baby! Love, ~Mike

My first job was at a summer sleep-away camp. I was a counsellor for 8 and 9 year old girls. Fun sometimes, hell sometimes, but overall a really great experience.

My first job was setting-up computers for our school over last summer break then networking them all. Setting a computer up is pretty easy, but then networking them..... that ain't too much fun.
I got a $200 check for doing that.

My very first job was as a newspaper delivery girl in 4th and 5th grade. Had to get up at 5 am, wrap the papers, and walk around the neighborhood and well... deliver them. It wasn't too bad. I probably would have done it longer if they hadn't of eliminated that position and started doing it by mail. Then I did the critter sitter thing (watch people's animals while they were away), which pays pretty well, then I worked at Sears for 6 months. Hated it. Now I'm a waitress/hostess. I'm slowly moving up in the world. ;D
