I'm a junior, and I filled out a form for the ACT last month, and I just now got done filling a form out for the SAT...and that just got me thinking about where I wanna go for college. So I have a question for anyone who is in college or already graduated, cause I feel dumb asking anyone else. For example, you've taken accounting and intro. to business in highschool do you still take those classes in highschool?? Lol.

^^Your question sort of confused me...but that's OK because I'm not even in college yet, much less graduated. Sorry! Try asking your school counselor about any questions like that...they're normally pretty good with that stuff. Even though I'm only a freshman, I'm definitely thinking about colleges already. I've done research on colleges, looked at the requirements on colleges I'm considering at this point, talked to my parents, and kept my grades up so I can get into a good university. Maybe I'm preparing earlier than most people, but I figure it can't hurt, and it'll be better to be overprepared rather than underprepared when it comes time to apply and choose.

Did you mean do you still take those in college? If so, then that is entirely up to you. It really depends on what you want to major in. If you want to major in business, accounting, or things related to either one of those, or have a major that would benefit you to take those classes, then yes, you would take them again. However, if your major goes in a completely different direction than that, you take the classes that pertain to your major and/or interest you. Like if you're an art major, you wouldn't necessarily take those classes, though some do just to round out their schedule. It also depends on what school you go to. Some schools might require you to take those classes, but that's usually because they specialize in certain areas that require those particular fields. Anyway, I hope that was helpful! Sorry if I was confusing at all.

No I think it's great that you are preparing early! Believe me you're saving yourself a lot of time by preparing now.

i'm a junior also and i've been thinking a lot about college lately and it's scary. however, i do have my sights set on two different colleges and i've gotten information about both of them.
last month i took the SATs and i did less than i expected :/ i was really disappointed in myself. but i'll take them again in april or so, and then i'm going to take the SAT IIs in june. ugh. not to mention, i have AP testing in may... hopefully i won't die this semester. i'm also enrolled in an after school psychology class given through a local community college that i will receive 3 units of college credit for.
so, i've been looking up college information, taking AP courses, and sending out for college stuff in preparation. it's important to start early, i wish i had been thinking about it a little earlier. but so is the way it goes. it's also important to do things like community service, be active, and take well rounded classes... another thing i've failed to do. i have this fear, that despite having over a 4.0 GPA, i won't be accepted anywhere i want to go because i'm not an "active" student.
ugh. i'll have applied for college before the end of the year, this is so scary...

You know what, Spazmatical? Don't even sweat it! I was like you - great gpa, horrible "active" history - and I got into every college I applied to, and I applied to some pretty good schools. Just do pretty well on SAT's, write good, clear essays (if the college requires them) and with your amazing gpa (4.0 do wonders for college acceptances, unless you're going for like...harvard), you'll do fine.
