i took this topic from the old razzberry board i know that a lot of kids have cheated on tests. i have. i'm not proud of it, but there is so much pressure when it comes to school. there's so many other tests to study for and its hard when you don't care about the material you're learning and you find it useless. i've cut back a lot on cheating, and i'm trying to focus more and find the answers to the questions that are floating around my brain. what do you guys think? have you cheated on tests?

I have cheated a couple of times, and I'm not proud or ashamed of it or anything... It were tests that you had to study *really* hard for, and I mean *really really really really really really* hard. I mean, it's the fault of the school that they give tests that are just too hard, so I think I have the right to cheat. I don't think it's a very big deal. ~*Esther*~

i copy on like everything, its like i cant help it i just do it, its a habit, and i know its bad but i am just too busy sometimes. and if u didnt know the answer on a test and it was right there on the next one i know u would look too so dont deney it, everyone does it. its not really cheating its more like comparing answers anyways

I'm not trying to be a goody-goody, but I don't cheat. I have, once or twice, but really regretted it afterwards. My accomplishments feel so more more signifigant when I know I earned them totally on my own.
Today, for example. We have these standardized tests, in which there are multiple choice and open-ended (you write your own answer, draw a diagram, picture, etc.). I made a pretty good answer on one of the open ended (for science). When we finished the first Science part, and were on the next Science part, on one of the multiple choice questions, there was a question that pretty much explained the open-ended question that I had just finished, better than I had. I could have very easily cheated, turned back a few pages, and wrote a more suitable answer, but the guilt would have killed me. (They're really big on "Not going back to another part")
I'll do the occasional "What did you get for number 7 on homework?" thing, but I make sure I get the answer explained to me. If someone asks me a question, I try to explain it to them, and see if they can come up with it on their own. You tend to remember things more if you come up with them by yourself.

I've cheated on homework/tests/quizzes too many times like whoever finishes the homework first, gives to another person and lets them copy then when that person is done, they pass on thier paper. we always do that. i know its not good but sometimes i just get lazy and copy. sometimes i try to do it myself. i mostly cheat on history tests/quizes because its really easy to get the answers from people in that class.

A lot of people cheat at my school...I guess it's bad, but no one really thinks about it as "cheating." It's funny, people are always like, "Can I borrow your SS homework?" We just get lazy. A lot of the time we try to do it ourselves (sometimes in school, but oh well) but it's just so much easier and faster to copy a friend's...I guess I'm a bad person. Love, ~The Kitten~

You're a VERY bad person!!!!! i think the ppl in my school just dont really care. Most of the ppl would only "cheat" on tests that are in unimportant classes, like music and maybe art. i dont really know. But if we dont take the class seriously, ppl just dont seem to care what they do as long as if they get a good/decent grade. monkey...kittenette is humoring me by being my friend. and Popcorn is just too cool.

I was lucky. I got to cheat on my final exams for last year. I took all the info w/me that I learned throughout the year as well as the books and they placed me in a room by myself cuz I took the finals late. I scored 70% which is a good accomplishment for me! ;D
On other tests, I write all the things I need to know/or dont know on my arm or I put my binder beside me on the floor w/all the notes I need for the test. Works everytime!

yeah, i've cheated before. but it was only because i had too many subjects to do homework for & to study for. there's only so much studying that a person can handle, & i think teachers tend to forget that sometimes. so like somebody else said, it's not always OUR fault; sometimes it's the TEACHER'S fault for putting too much pressure on us!

^^^ How can you blame the teacher for you cheating? Did they hold a gun to your head and demand you finish all work and drove you to cheating? You should learn to take responsibility for yourself.

Teachers DO go overboard sometimes, but I always make sure I'm prepared for a test, nonetheless. Sometimes it means not watching my favorite television show, hanging out with my friends, or doing other fun things.
That's what school is all about, though. In the working world, your boss isn't going to go easy on you for not completing your work because the Friends season finale was on.

>>How can you blame the teacher for you cheating? Did they hold a gun to your head and demand you finish all work and drove you to cheating? You should learn to take responsibility for yourself<< I don't know what it's like in your school, but in my school they really give us *way* too much 'learning material'. It's really abnormal. If they give us that much to learn, they can sort of guess that there are going to be more students who cheat than there would be if they gave us a normal amount of work. When I've been studying for 2 days non-stop (or more...) and I still don't know everything they want us to learn (sometimes we have *3* tests in one day), well I'm sorry, but then I think I have 'permission' to cheat... It's not healthy to have to work as hard as that. You can work your *ss off and be stressed and have 5 hours of sleep a night if you like, but I just don't think it's worth it. ~*Esther*~ p.s. I'm sorry if I came off a bit harsh, it's nothing personal.

Yeah, I've cheated on tests before. Oddly enough, I did feel quite guilty about it. But earning a good grade on my own makes me feel quite worthy, so I don't like to cheat...much. It always makes me feel that I'm smart enough, and that I'm worthy of accomplishing something. ;D
