What is your school like? I mean, the people, the stereotypes, the atmosphere?
My school is wayy too awesome. All the girls are in their group, all the guys are in a group. We're all like a big family. All the people are sweet and school isn't too hard. I love my school.

My school is HUGE. It's one of the biggest high schools in Southern CA...so that rules out the whole everyone's-tight possibility. But I actually like my school. I have good classes, mostly good teachers, we have excellent sports programs, a lot of awesome clubs, and if you make the effort to smile and be friendly, you'll find that most of the people are really nice.

I really love my school. It's very small, but I still love it. About 300 people, I suppose...give or take some. My school has it's usual cliques and stereotypes, like most school...but all the people are still very friendly (as long as you're friendly to them, of course!). I usually get along with everyone pretty well, so it's really nice to have a big group of people you can hang out with. I am so in love with all of my teachers!! Some are very nice and polite, some are sarcastic and hilarious, and some can be boring (depends on the class, really). Like my Harbs (uhh, nickname for my favorite teacher)...he is awesome. He's is the most sarcastic person I know and it's so funny when he "criticizes" people...I love it when he criticizes me...ahaha (okay, now ya'll probably think I'm wack). But yes, that's my dear HS.

I really don't like my school. It's a pretty big regional high school.
As for the people... That's my main dislike. It feels like I don't get along with anyone. Sure, I've met a few nice people, but everyone is so stuck up. They all came in with their pre-formed cliques, and a lot of my old friends are changing... I've made a handful of friends, but the majority of the people are just awful.
The education is good. I'd have to say that's the only thing I like about high school. The classes are challenging, which I like, and the teachers are good.
The building itself is old. It's dirty in there. They need to hire a new janitor or something. The cafeteria is encrusted with a bunch of old food... It's gross. The school is also very poor. They just build a gorgeous new high school in the district (that my area isn't eligible to go to, figures), so now my school can't afford little things... Like good textbooks or tissues in each classroom.
However, they are installing air conditioning this summer, and we have a semi-new addition on the school that houses a huuuge library and some science rooms.

My school...CLS...been there 9 years...its interesting... We've gone from learning our abc's at 4-5 to dating eachother at 13-14. We've done everyting together. Our whole school is a lil over 500 people and the 8th grade class has just reached 53 people. We're known for being the huge school with in our "lutheran school group" It's fun...but can also be extremely annoying. We have the groups...and most of them can be stuck up. Most of the popular people are nice to me..but they never really have a conversation with me. There's just that weird barrier. I dunno..but we all know eachother so its quite cozy. I love our tournaments, basketball games, teachers, people, and our spirit! CLS Warriors Rock! Eeep..I'm nervous to leave...I'll be going to a school of 2000 next year!

Wow, do I know how that is. Our school district has poorly used sooo much money in the past 3 years that they've thrown thousands of dollars down the toilet. Thus, we do not have the money for scantron tests, tissues, sports equipment, textbooks, or paper. They had to lay off 3 teachers at our school recently, and my algebra class offers extra credit if you bring in tissues or batteries. It's gotten pretty bad...

^^ heh, i feel you there. i have a lot of classes where we get extra credit if we bring in simple supplies that should be provided by the school. it's really sad to see the unnecessary things the school squanders their money on - like new paint jobs when they aren't necessary - while i'm sitting in a class who's most current text book is one that was written in the early 70s and doesn't quite fit the cirriculum.
my school also started a new mandatory class a few years back called life skills... currently, there is no real cirriculum for the class. i spent the entire semester watching movies. for our final today, we watched austin powers III. don't get me wrong, i'm not complaining... but it is a complete waste of my time. not to mention that since there is no cirriculum for the class, the oddest teachers get stuck teaching it. my school gave my life skills teacher the class on what's supposed to be his conference period - he's a MUSIC teacher, not a life skills teacher. he was quite bitter about having to teach.
my school also has a new absence policy for juniors. if we're absent more than 12 times (i believe) in one semester, we cannot participate in ANY senior activities - including: graduating on stage, prom, and grad nite. what kind of bullshit is that? if for some God awful reason someone has to have surgery and they're out for two weeks - they can't graduate with their class. i swear, the school system needs some smarter people running it.

My school is pretty good. It's quite big- 2 floors, 3 blocks, about 100 classrooms and excellent lab facilities. We have a physics, bio and chemistry lab for the seniors, junior lab for lower school, 2 libraries for upper and lower school, a music room and 3 computer labs. My school goes from lower kindergarten to Grade 12 (senior year in highschool) so we pretty much remain together all our school life, which is good. I've been there since kindergarten. We have 2000 students and 120 staff but everybody knows each other, so it's like a big family. Finances are handled well and we recently got a new stage (which we are using in a week for prizegiving. I'm so excited!). It's really really cool- lighting, curtains and it's as tall as the school building. My school is great, but some teachers should have been prison guards. Some of them are awful and we have a few very stupid rules like having to wear two plaits to school. The uniform is okay- navy blue pinafore with white shirt but plaits? Geez. Tis a twisted bunch who run schools.

I am in between schools right now. The one I'm switching to is really family-based. It has about 15 kids total in the 8th grade class which I will be in. Its small and has a smelly gym, but I'm looking forward to the closeness.

Our highschool is medium sized and is the most diverse out of all the other school's in our county. That's like the biggest thing our school is known for. w00t.
Hmm what else. Our football team has made it to the state finals a couple of times--but hasn't won. We have a good varsity Basketball team. (I've heard...pshh I don't go to any of the games for any sports at our school)
We have a small gym and a big gym.
not much more to say. ;D

I mostly like my high school. I've been there since kindergarten, so sometimes I wish I could change things up a little bit...but I deal. We're in New York City, so our student body is obviously extremely diverse, which I love about my school. I also like how we have so many different clubs and activities. I dislike that we don't have any real teams--no football, etc., and therefore no cheerleading. Well, maybe that's a good thing--I'm sure I'd hate all the cheerleaders, anyway! We're a 'gifted' school, so we have some seriously smart kids. It kinda sucks, though, because competition over grades and college and all that bull is SO SO SO FIERCE and things get wild. Anyway, that's my school. Y'all should come check it out. ~Mike
