I don't think mine are overprotective, I just find them irritating at times.
Most of the time, they're pretty laid-back. They let me do whatever I want, as long as they're aware of where I am, or what I'm doing.
They could be a lot worse.

My parents are verrry overprotective. They have to know every detail of where I'm going, ESPECIALLY if I'm going in a car (not to mention if the drive is a GUY), guys will be there, or if I'm going to a guy's house. They are insane about it. They also put restrictions on me for friends they have only met once or twice! If she/he has an eyebrow ring, tattoo, isn't a virgin, etc., they automatically think they're trouble. I hate it so much!

My parents are VERY overprotective. Mainly when it comes with cars. My sister was killed in a car accident, so I can like never drive anywhere with anyone unless my parents know and trust them.

No... but my best friend does... Causing me not to be able to send her snail mail... as well as maybe not even being able to meet her... ever. Nikki

How could you never MEET your best friend? Anyway... My parents are pretty overprotective but they've lightened up lately. After I get asked questions "Who's going, what time will you be back?", I get teased, when I'm out with a guy, that is. "Was there KISSING?" "No, dad..."

yeh, join the club. well, actually now that i think about it, they've gotten better. i think they're beginning to realize that i'm getting older and i don't need to be so protected. but every once in awhile, i have to do something to remind them.

My parents can be cool sometimes, but sometime they're kinda over protective. They always let me sleep over my friends house, but thats because they knew thier parents, and her older sister is my sister in law AND because she lives on the street behind ours. but other than that, they don't let me sleep over my other friends house. They think i'll come back pregnant or something. They're most likely to let me go some place my brother is going to be at, but we have to be back kind of early.

No, not really. Believe it or not, at times, I wish they were *more* protective.

my folks are overprotective... i'm the "baby", & the only girl, so they think i'm this helpless, defenseless baby that can't do anything by herself..if i wanna go somewhere, it's "only if mom, dad, or big bro goes too"; & b/c i'm a girl, they think i don't know how to change a flat tire (i do)....i've lost alot of friendships b/c of my parents' behaviors....i mean, most of my teachers, friends' parents, & other adults, all had WAY more trust in me than my own parents...it SUX! & this is a prime example as to why so many teens don't see/talk to their parents for YEARS after they turn 18...

I dunno... i mean.. sumtimes my parent are wayyy overprotective... sumtimes they cud be pretty cool. My mom is pretty cool with the going out thing...my dad is not. He thinks that we shud just stay home on a date and hang out with him. NOWAY! but my mom is always givingme a hard time whenver i want to go out wit friends. She said that i shud clean the house instead..and y waste money... etc. But pretty much..they are cool. But grr... i hate it when my mom looks like my sister. Most of my friends think that she is my sister when they first met her. I swear.. even the guys think that my mom is my older sister...grrr.... i have to stop writing or else im gonna go on and on about my parents.....

My mum was way cool until this morning. I was at a driving lesson and left my mobile in her car. I received a text from my boyfriend and she read it. We'd (me and Chris) had been discussing how so many guys push girls into having sex, and in the text he said how he'd never force me into anything I didn't want to do, etc, and now mum's flipping out, refusing to let me see him, and throwing a stress fit the second I even *think* about getting my 'ped out the garage. It took me 20 mins to convince her that I wasn't sneaking out to be impregnated when all I wanted was to get away from the house for an hour!
