I think that's something it's worth taking into account. Especially, for me, as someone who helps out in my church and knows people from so many places, the way I live my life affects the way others will live theirs. To take it from a religious perspective, if I smoke and get drunk, then some of my friends who have just become Christians will think it's OK to do that and to get totally out of control. I don't believe it is, but I'm setting that example. We don't have to live our lives seriously in fear of setting the wrong example, but I reckon we just need to remember why we're doing what we're doing, and that we are setting an example.

I'm a role model to the younger girls (5th graders) at my school. Through school activities, especially chorus and drama, I've kind of taken them under my wing. I've shown them the ropes, how to deal with the big school, etc. Every day when I arrive, I'm greeted with cheers and hugs by them. "Lisa, I love your sweater!" or "Lisa, you're old, can you help me with my boy problem?" are common things that I hear when I walk down the halls. It feels great to be admired, and I try hard to set a good example. When I was their age, the older girls didn't want to be bothered with us. It would have been great to have an older friend to look up to. Hopefully I can provide that to these kids.

Like Lisa, I'm a role model to some of the younger girls at my school - 6th and 7th graders. I'm involved in lots of school stuff (Young Ambassadors, Mediators, field hockey, chorus), so I get to meet and connect with a lot of them...I wouldn't say I'm a role model, actually, though. More like an older friend to hang out with and get advice from. Like she said, when I was in the "lower grades" none of the 8th graders really talked to us, so I think it's really cool.

It was so cute, today. I had made these cookies. I thought they were kind of gross, and the last thing I need is chocolate, so I was trying to get rid of them. Apparently, one of the 5th grade girls had a few of them. She runs up to me, saying, "Lisa! You're amazing! You're beautiful and you can cook!" It was so sweet. She totally made my day.

I love it when these things happen. And it's so good to be a role model for younger kids, and see that they need you and look up on you... you hlp them be better people and you can keep 'em away from bad things.

Well, supposedly to my younger sisters. But i'm not doing really good at that.Sorry, but it's hard enough just being me,than to make sure i'm doing the right thing for the sake of them, that's just asking for too much!
