^^ That's been happening to myself and others as well. I think it was due to the cloud background, so I took it down.
Since then, everything's been fine for me. So everything should be showing up fine now for everyone else, too. But if anyone is *still* experiencing problems, please let me know. Maybe I can talk to support and see what it might be.

I've noticed slow page loading even with DSL. And it wasn't just this board but Moon Cafe and Proboards in general. Sometimes the blue bar at the bottom would just sit there. Seems to be okay now.

Any idea why? I mean, it's not like it cost money to run or anything and I'm sure there would be someone willing to help out on it - something's gotta be better than shutting it down...Or so I figure...

/\ That depends. If you're maintaining a website with links and features, it cost money to rent/own/lease a server to route all the posts and emails. Plus you have to hire or keep on staff a webmaster and maybe a publicist and accountant.
If the ads don't help pay for site's operating costs and the amount of people in there don't support the site, it's hard to keep a site going. Personal sites here or personal webpages are not a big deal, but when you have memberships approaching dozens then hundreds of people, computers start to protest and you need more.
Proboards is supported by ads and such plus there are so many that the boards can support themselves sometimes.

^Yeah, I totally get what you're saying. My point was more that Pink Pub was hosted for free on Proboards, so what's the big deal about just keeping it open? It wouldn't cost them anything as far as paying for hosting just to leave it open Also does anyone know what happened to www.goosehead.com ? It has mysteriously vanished...

That all depends, you also have something called "bandwidth" which also must be paid for or supported by servers. If bandwidth is exceeded, say by many members and such, then the server cannot handle the load, or the website's owners have to either pay more or close out the site. Bandwidth is a certain amount of data transfer rate and storage.

Yup, yup, I know that, but my point was, does Proboards even have a bandwidth limit? They don't that I know of, and therefore it would be FREE to keep the message board up

Why doesn't any one post anymore surveys in the Cloud Nine Spotlight? I liked reading those.
