I was NEVER one of those girls who wanted their period. You know, those silly girls so happy at the first sign of womanhood! Umm . . . no. I dreaded it, but now that it's here, its not bad at all. I am definitely one of the lucky ones. I only have it for a couple of days and it's really light. I never get cramps or any of that mess. (Don't hate. ) BUT, when I do get it, I only get it during the WORST times. My first time was during the annual Spring Fling in seventh grade. Then it was at my aunt's house, then at my dad's house in NY, before we were swimming, then before a trip to the water park and then before a track meet or something, etc. And all I wanted was to have it when I was home with my mom and prepared for once! It was just so horrible! I wish I were on a regular cycle, and I was for a while, until my period decided it didn't like me and I haven't seen it since JANUARY!!! Lol. I'm not pregnant, and I at first thought it was cuz of track, but I was lazy this year and haven't run since the State Meet, in May. It shoudl have been back by now. But whatever. I can live without it.

I wanted my period for the one reason that I wouldn't have to worry about it coming whenit shouldn't! But it is a pain. Not because I get cramps which I DON'T, lucky me! but for the pure reason of changing all the bloody 'equipment' It drives me insane!!!! But except for the first time I got it I've never stained my sheets coz I sleep on my front, all night, but I wake up with a sore neck . ...I just realized that I used the perfect word up there without even realizing it, bloody!

UGH I HATE MY PERIOD! Whenever i get the chance to spend the night at my boyfriend's place (it doesn't happen too often) I start or have just started my period! ITS SO ANNOYING! Just this past monday I woke up feeling HORRIBLE. I had the worst cramps in the world. I ended up curled up on his mom's couch in the fetal position with a heating pad on my stomach and my boy by my side not knowing what to do. I HATE MY PERIOD!!!!!!!

^^ Spazmatikal, does your guy freak out about your period or is he cool about it? i know some guys who won't even let me mention the word when they're in the room. but my bf is good about it.... he always knows when I have mine because my blood sugar levels go higher than normal (i'm diabetic) and my needles hurt more. and he's really good about it, he offers me advil and stuff. it's nice when guys are mature about "girl stuff" eh?

^^ my boy is definitely cool about the whole period thing, and that's GOOD cuz i'm pretty free with that information. he knows every time i'm on it, offers me backrubs and is generally really understanding about it. the only time he makes fun of it is when i'm doing it myself... which is totally acceptable. i do have male friends tho qho squirm and go nutty if i even mention the word "menstruation" or "period". it's quite immature, but i suppose i don't blame them. they just don't understand. and yes, it is nice when guys are mature about "girl stuff"... cuz sometimes it can be downright embarassing.

I hate mine so much.
I'm on it now. I don't mean to gross NEone out but I vomitted 3x today and had the worst cramps imaginable. MY on/gyn gave me a pill to help relieve me, and it has worked thus far. You only can take it with food, that was the hard part. The reason why it was so hard is because everything I ate came back up so the pill couldn't settle. Finally I was able to eat some crackers and I prayed that it stayed down so I could take the friggin pill. That helped so much. I know this sounds bad but, if Gods a man, how can he know what it is to be on a period like a mine ? OTS:: But does NEone find themeselves comfortable in the weirdest postions when they have cramps ? I do. Well I'm glad I got help from a professional.
Oh and, if the reason why you get cramps is because your muscles are contracting. But everyones muscles contract, so why do some not have any pain, and some have tremendous pain ?

Mine's supposed to be here in a couple days. I've had mine for nearly two years, and I haven't skipped one, unfortunately.
But everyones muscles contract, so why do some not have any pain, and some have tremendous pain ? It depends on the female. I rarely get cramps, but a friend of mine has pains so awful she has to skip school. It's a good suggestion to place a hot water bottle on your lower abdomen, just to help the muscles loosen up. Playing sport also prevents excessive tightening of the muscles, according to my health nurse.

^^ I know how your friend feels. I usually skip school if it comes on a week day. Instead of a warm water bottle I use a heating pad. Oh and the sports thing isn't neccessarily true. My sister is a hard-core long distance runner and it doesn't make a difference for her, and same here for me too. I'm also an athlete and it doesn't do anything for me. I hate that it doesn't though. But like I said, the doctot precsribed me a much stronger IBProfen that helped tremendously. But next year I'll probably get birth control instead. But for now the pills the Doc gave me will surfice.

UGH! I hate my period so much... first of all I get the worst cramps... 2nd mine is VERY heavy. (which sucks during sports. 3rd it's never regular sometimes it comes a week other times a week late. And I hate it when it comes at night! A pad doesn't keep all the blood in for a night even with the overnight pads. Another thing i can't ware a friggen tampon even! It leaks through! Thats how heavy mine is! And apperantly I have major pms. Its so awful!

^^ whoever said something about feeling comfortable in the most seemingly uncomfortable positions while on their period is RIGHT. man, i find myself perfectly happy in the weirdest positions.
does anyone here find themselves...ah...hornier when they're on my period? i am, and it's weird. but i don't want to touch myself because i'm bleeding and it's gross lol... but yeah, uh...

I just started getting mine regularly (I was lucky, I'm almost 15!). It sucks... But I take Advil and the cramps aren't too bad. I tried tampons, but they just don't work for me... So I find the extra long pads work best at preventing leaks.
Anyway, I do notice the hornier thing. I think it's just the fact that there isn't much you can do to relieve yourself that makes you want to do it more... But, I'm always incredibly horny anyway, so I'm used to it.
