I don't know. I personally don't think it can happen, because if you just see a person all you see is looks and not the personality.....

well....i dont think its pocible to fall in love with someone just by looking at them once, but if its the first time you meet them and they are just so sweet...it could be "love at first sight" well, thats what happend to me...me &my boyfriend have been together for 8 months ;D

For me, I think it's crap, but like I said, for me...Because for more than 1 case, I've seen a guy and been like "Wow, I could never like him in that way" and then I get to know him and realize that his personality made his looks a whole lot better, and then I end up up liking him. But, like I said, this is my opinion. I just believe that the only way you can really love someone is by having experiences with them, to actually prove that you love them, and you can't do that by just looking at person's outside.

I do think that love at first sight can be real.... but i don't think i'd ever trust it in my own life.
i know a girl though who met a guy on a cruise, got engaged that night, and got married a month later. they've been married a year and a half and she's till super-happy.

I don't think it can happen. LUST at first sight, on the other hand... Definately. You can want someone just by looking at them. Maybe, perhaps one in a million of those lust at first sight times, you'll actually develop a relationship with that person, leading them to believe they were in love at first sight.
Love takes time... You have to grow to know someone and learn their faults and their perfections and love all of those just the same.
Sometimes personalities aren't compatable, or the person is a jerk, or they're about as interesting as a Q-tip... How can you know all about a person before you even talk to them?
Larigirl, I enjoy hearing things like that... A bit spontaneous, and they were definately taking a risk, but that's mega-cute. ;D

My opinion is, no, there is no such thing as love at first sight. At all. No exceptions. I'm sure there are some lovely romantic stories, but I do not believe they were love at first sight.
I know of no better way to put this than the way Kip Kinkel did. I know he was pretty nuts, and I know he's doing 111 years in prison for killing his parents and shooting up his school at age 15 (does that scream, "I'm sane!" or what?). But it doesn't make him any less intelligent. This essay could have used a little polishing, but all in all, it says the way I feel about love at first sight.
It was done for a school paper for a class...his teacher was a little disturbed by this, and we can all see why. Get past the psycho parts about him hating everyone, and kinda attempt to look at the point of this essay (I'd do it for you, but it wouldn't be right to butcher it up).
Love Sucks by Kip Kinkel
No, I don't believe in love at first sight because love is an evil plot to make people buy alcohol and firearms. When you love someone something it is always taken away from you. I also would like to add that I hate each and every one of you. Because everything I touch turns to shit. I think if you think you fall in love with someone at first sight it might just be lust. Love at first sight is only in movies. Where the people in the movies are better than you. That is why you go to a pone (sic)[pawn] shop and buy an AK-15 because you are going to execute every last mother fucking one of you. If I had a heart it would be gray.
It is easier to hate than love. Because there is much more hate and misery in the world than there is love and peace. Some people say that you should love everyone. But that is impossible. Look at our history it is full of death, depression, rape, wars and diseases. I also do not believe in love at first sight. But I do believe in hate at first sight. Therefore love is a much harder feeling to experience.
I really wouldn't know how to answer this question because my cold black heart has never and never will experience true love. I can tell you one about love. It does more harm than good. I plan to live in a big black hole. My firearms and [illegible] will be the only things to fight my isolation. I would also like to point out Love is a horrible thing. It makes things kill and hate.

wow redbdomine, I thought that essay was really dsturbing. I can see your point though, I mean its not like your gonna see some random person walk past you and say 'Hey, I Love You!' But I still disagree some. i think love at first site is possible. Sometimes, maybe you just have a connection with someone, or you look into their eyes. Also, you may see them do something so sweet that it fills your heart with love, and so you care about them and feel love for them. I mean love is just so sweet, like when you see 2 people who are completely in love with each other , it just makes you feel good about things. Yes, I know i am a romantic, and many of you probably would disagree with this, but this is how I feel about it.

^^haha, my thoughts exactly. Kip should be in a mental hospital, not prison I really agree with the part about hate at first sight and how hate is an easier feeling to experience. I think that's a very wise thing to realize. That whole paragraph sums up how I feel about love and hate in the world. I think love is a very rare occurance, even among married couplies, in that, love at first sight just seems impossible to me.

It depends on what you mean by "love at first sight". First sight as in the first moment you saw him/her. Or the first impression that he/she gave you after you talked to him/her. Love is such a simple yet complicated matter. Personally, i dont think i've ever experience "true love". And if i am right now feeling one... i mite just not know it yet. So i dont know if i believe in love at first sight. But i do believe that when you're in love, you'll know it in your own time.

No. I don't believe in love at first site. It just can't happen. Love at first sight would be basing love on looks. You can't tell your in love with someone when you look at them. It's like, walking up to a really cute total and complete strangers... and telling them you will marry them one day and you will have children and live in Florida and be madly in love forever...
