This sterotype REALLY annoys me. Just becuase you wear ceratin things doesn't mean you do drugs. My parents think im going to do drugs, they think im going down the "wrong path" by wearing what I do. I told them it was very sterotypical of them. They said sterotypes are usually right. I wish they would have some trust in me! What do you think, does they way you dress effect if you do drougs or not.

Ugh, I hate that! Everyone at my school thinks I'm a major druggie. I've never done a drug in my life. But I can't convince ANYONE that I don't do drugs. They mainly think I'm a pot-head. My dad even thinks I'm one. Same way with people think someone doesn't do drugs because of how they look. Most people will stereotype it that the skaters, Goths, Punks, etc. are the druggies, and the football players and cheerleaders are like perfect. Way off. I know a lot more football player pot-heads than I do skater pot-heads. But, that doesn't really have anything to do with what they wear, I guess that's just who they are. People just assume too much when they look at a person, whether it's a good thing, or a bad thing.

All I have to add is that I know far more 'preps' that experiement with drugs than 'goths' or 'punks'. Also, how can your attire determine your actions? Talk about pathetic.

Talk about pathetic. *stands up and claps* i totally agree. people now-a-dayz are so judgmental. they don't take the time to get to know the person, how they act, feel, and what they've been through before saying "i don't like them". i have smoked (cigarettes) before. i did and still do wear blue jeans and a light color top. i am more artistic than brainy. but oh well. that's who i am. i don't smoke any more. but unless i told someone that i had, they wouldn't have guessed.

The majority of the drug users I currently know blend in completely with "normal" society. I've smoked crank with many people who went to high-paying business jobs the next day. Same thing in high school - people who looked "normal" got away with much more.

It doesn't matter how you dress, it matters what you think about drugs, which can't possibly affect the way you dress. People make me mad sometimes.

This has to be one of THE stupidest stereotypes I know of. There's at most an equal mix of preps/punks who do drugs.
MY sisters wear trenchcoats and combat boots, and I KNOW neither one is doing any kind of illegal substance.
