^^ i'm going to totally agree with canola here (and no, not just because he's my boyfriend).
in the end, what does it matter what clique you're apart of? what your label is? it does nothing for you. it's a name. meaningless. who cares if that person isn't as punk rock as you? or as goth? how does that affect you at all? if what they're doing is making them happy, let them do whatever the hell they want. let them look stupid, let them claim to be something they aren't. when you're dead, no one is going to care if you were a goth, a prep, or a punk. hell, when you get out of high school, people probably won't care.
i remember going through the stage where i HAD to label myself. almost everyone i know did at around 13 or 14. at that age, you're beginning to question who you are and what you believe in... you want to belong somewhere.
i won't label myself now because i can't. i don't know what i am... i'm a mix of everything. i am what i feel like being when i wake up in the morning. most importantly, I AM ME. i'm not gothic, i am not punk, i am not a prep. i am tiffany. i wear whatever the hell i want to wear. today i'll wear all black, tomorrow i'll wear jeans and a cute shirt. why? because i feel like it. i don't care what anyone else thinks.
the bottom line is, be yourself.

Actually, I agree with you tiffany. That's what I have been trying to say (maybe not about labeling but I have said it on other topics) That nothing matters. But in the mean time, it's life, so I just go along with it, like everyone else.

>>But this is what I hate:: Poeple will come to school wearing a black top, all black or something and calling themselves GOTH o or FREAK.. that happened today, I just wanted to punch the hell out of them arghh <<
I completely agree. Wearing all black and getting piercings all over your body does NOT make you a freak. First of all, there are tons of people who dress like that. Not that this is a bad thing, but these people act like they are so high and mighty because they are "different", when there are a million people who look just like them. What you wear says nothing about what you wear. Take me for example. I wear fairly normal clothes. I shop mostly at department stores. I have no piercings (not even my ears), no tatoos, and I wear no jewelry. Yet, I still consider myself a freak. No, a freak is not a label. It just means that you are unusual. And I am pretty damn bizarre, if I do say so myself.

I know that there are always going to be people who label others with "prep" "goth" "thug" and all that other ish,but it is so stupid.
Like this one girl I was talking to was like "Man, there are like all these preps in all of my classes" and I asked her why does she consider them preps. Her reply was: "I dunno they just are" Omfg, then don't use the word if you don't even know what the hell it means you dumbass. Ugh, and anyone who labels guys in our schools "thugs" need to look up the word.

^^^ Yeah, really. A "prep" is someone who plans on going to college. According to that, about 90% of the people from my school were preps.
