I'm Lisa. I'm a size 14. I have some nice clothes that I like to wear. And I must confess, I am a dead shopper.
I've been the same size for a while now. My old pants still fit just fine. Yet, there must be some sort of conspiracy-- every time I try on a new pair of pants... I'm hard-pressed to find a pair that even make it past my thighs. Even if I try on a pair of the same EXACT pants that I already own, this happens.
It's not me-- it can't be me. My old jeans fit just FINE. Are the new jeans being cut smaller?
I'm not at the point where I can really wear plus sizes, I'm the size of the average woman. And every store, even every faithful store, shows the same problems.
Has anyone else picked up on this dreaded pants conspiracy?

YES YES YES!!! I'm so glad it isn't just me. Jeans are being cut... weird now. I get them up to my thighs (barely, I might add) and then they can barely cover my butt. Depending on the brand, I can wear either a 12, 14, or 16. I wear a 12 in Calvin Kleins. I try on a pair of jeans at Target (size 16), and the outcome is like the one I described above. It's insane! Stick to a set size people!

Yup, same here. I have a few pairs Anchor Blue jeans that I got for Christmas that fit me perfectly. I went into the store a couple days ago, tried on a few pairs of jeans the same size, 15, and they wouldn't get past my butt! Anchor Blue used to be my favorite brand of jeans. Not anymore! Same with tops- sometimes I can wear a medium. Most of the time large. But I can't even fit into an extra large on some brands. And when I find a top I really like that fits me really well, I put it in the dryer, and it becomes a belly shirt.

I have a problem where I try on a pair of pants and I can't even come close to buttoning them but the legs are about a foot to long, and if I get into ones I can button then they are about 2 feet to long!! It's really really annoying!!!!!!! I'm not too short either I'm about 5'1.5" and about average sizes. It's a conspiracy!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one noticing this! My size-six friends think I'm nuts.

OMG I completely agree!!
Now I am "relatively small", but jeans that fit most of me never fit my butt. I don't get it either. MY butt is in no sense very large.

I can't stand the way clothes are cut now!! The majority of women have hips that are too large to fit into most brands of jeans, but the companies are still downiszing the amount of hip and thigh room and enlargening wait bands! GRAW! But still, some stores carry jeans that are tailor made to "curvier" women.
