HELP!!! does anyone have any idea how to get podgy(sp) out of hair? it's kind of a glue/varnish you usually use for decoupage. my boyfriend.....actually it was my bad idea. we used it to spike his mohawk. it seemed so smart at the time! shiny, and spiky...we've been trying to get it out, but so far there's just these gross ratty clumps of glue. ahhh.... poor boy...
oh, and diva: you need to bleach it super super blonde. if he wants to DIH(do-it-himself), that might mean quite a lot of bleach. i had the exact same problem a coulpe a years ago, cause my hair's like that. also, a warning, it fades out to a yucky gray.

brown-eyed-rudie:
I had sort of the same problem when I decided to put vaseline in my hair... Long story ( warning to others as clueless as I - [glow=red,2,300]DO NOT PUT VASELINE IN YOUR HAIR IT DOES NOT COME OUT![/glow]) ...in the end, my mom said to use vinegar and it helped a lot ( it didnt get it all but more than shampoo ). I dont know if it would work with what he has in his hair but I would still try it.
Hope it helps.

My hair is half curly and half straight. Like, some of the strands are curly and some are straight. It makes the whole thing really frizzy and pouffy. I am not very talented with a straightener and it won't blow-dry straight. Does anyone have any idea of any styles (besides pony tail I am so sick of it) that might work with my hair that won't take forever to do.

insane, i don't know if it was the vinegar or the dish soap but it's out! so if any one was worried, fear not. he's as adorable as ever.....except we did chop off a couple chunks of hair in a desperate moment....oh well. as for the grey hair problem, cross that bridge when you get to it. once you hair is all faded and gross, dye it back to your natural colour, or close to it, so that when it grows out the roots aren't all fucked up.

I need some help with my haircolor. Alright, right now it is dyed blackish/reddish and I want my natural color back (medium brown). If I dye it brown, won't it be really dark underneath from the black??? I am so confused does anybody know what I should do?

I just got some of those hair sticks but I can't get my hair to stay up. Any tips? My hair is real fine if that makes any differance.

dream10: The fact that your hair is fine probably makes it harder to keep it up with a hair stick. What you could do, is to first tie a ponytail and then twist your hair up in a bun and stick the hair stick through it (keeping the stick close to your scalp). Alternatively, you could tie a ponytail and plait your hair and then use the stick. This would work better if you tied a high ponytail.

Did you use permanent or temporary dye? It's going to be difficult to get out, but it will probably be easier if it's only temporary hair color. You could try lightening it with a permanent hair color that is your natural shade, but it might not come out. I'd suggest going to the salon. They have this stuff that lifts the dyed color out of your hair, and it usually works unless the color you dyed your hair is much darker than your natural color. If that stuff doesn't work, then they can always chemically strip the color out of your hair. It will be a lot more expensive to go to the salon, but it's probably better than trying to fix it yourself.

^^^To the gurl above me. You can lighten your hair without dying it with what I call "Lemon Juice Streaks!" (I'm so original!) Anyway mix 2 parts lemon juice with one part water in a spray bottle and put it in dry hair. Then go out into the sun for about 30 minutes or so. Then come back inside and wash it out. DO NOT SHAMPOO. Then the blonde in your hair should be highlighted to a nice lighter colour without the gross white look. And as for easy hair styles. I keep a record of ones that I find easy in a notebook. I'm a dweeb. Lol. OK anyways: -Make high ponytail, wrap hair around and secure with bobbypin to cover elastic. Or after u put elastic in wrap around a pretty necklace or bracelet and secure it with it's clasp. -french braids. If you want you can PM me and I'll give you detailed instructions. -A way to get nice tight spiral curls is to roll up some tinfoil and twist hair around it and blow dry it with it in and then u'll have cute spirals. -Messy buns!! -Zig-zag part. That's all for now! Nic

Does anyone know of any temporary hair dyes that will make your hair really red (not unnaturally, though), and will take a while to wash out. I don't want to dye my hair permanently, because I don't want to have to dye the roots back every few weeks. But I want something that's actually going to last. So far, I've tried Loreal Casting color in warm copper, and Clairol Natural Instincts Exotic in auburn red, and they both started to fade within a week. I used to boxes of the Natural Instincts stuff last weekend, and now it's barely red at all. They said it would wash out in 24 shampoos. Oh, and I also don't want the color to be really brassy. I want more of a dark red. But it can't be too dark, because my hair is naturally dark blonde, and if the color is too dark it won't wash out. I know, I'm really picky. But if anyone has any advice on what to use, I'd really appreciate it.

BlissfulGnome - I have the same problem and what I'm going to try is this : mix peroxide into your shampoo (i'm not sure of the ratio but i'll post it later) and just use it everyu time you wash your hiar, it'll gradually lighten it back to the normal colour..... at least that's what my hairdresser-friend said.... i'll let you know how it turns out
cassiopeia - try Egyptian Plum by Herbal Essences..... it looks purpler on the box but it turns out pretty red.... my natural hair colour is similar to yours (i saw your picture in the "Your Pretty Picture" thread) and it turned my hair a pretty bright red.... it also lasted quite a while.
