Hey!
I dress because it make me feel good about myself. When you look nice, you feel nice, and that's my style. But the clothes I wear are comfy but not sloppy. But you'll often find my hair up the same way as in my pic <<<<<<<<<<<

I wear nice clothes because they make me feel pretty and good. When I am at home wearing a big t shirt I feel gross and ugly. Same with my underwear. Even though no one sees them but me, I still don't like to wear the ones that go really high. I would rather wear the silky flowery ones because I feel better when I wear them.

Comfort. Thats my number one priority in clothing. I don't care if what I'm wearing is not "in style". Besides, true style is what you, as an individual make it out to be. I prefer fitted sweatshirts, t-shirts, jeans, flip flops, and running shoes compared to dresses and heels. I feel relaxed and more like myself when I'm wearing my basic sweatshirt and jeans and I can do more activities dressed like this. I also feel more attractive when I dress casually because I know that the guys are not staring down at my chest. Instead, they are looking me in the eye and not judging me based on my chest.
Dresses? I hardly where them but when I do, I'm constantly wishing I could rip it off. For example, on the day of my graduation, I was wearing a thin strapped dress and very high heels and I honestly couldn't wait for the moment to take it off and return the comfort of my jeans and t-shirt.

That's a really good question, it made me think. And what I came up with is, I dress for me, not anyone else. Like a lot of girls, I live in flares, tee shirts, and sweatshirts. It's just what makes me feel comfortable. I like clothes that allow me to move and do stuff - I don't get that with a dress. In fact, I can't stand dresses. The only time I wear them is for chorus concerts and for Easter and Christmas church services. But this is only my opinion, I know there are lots of girls out there who love dresses. That's totally awesome, but they're not for me. The whole sit-stand-walk like a lady thing isn't for me - I never learned it, growing up with 2 brothers, and it's honestly not a big priority for me. I like wearing spaghetti strapped tank tops, and I'm fine wearing them in public, as long as they're not too revealing. I also live in Southern California, so they're pretty practical here, except my school dress code forbids them (grr). I don't wear a whole lot of really revealing clothes - I'm proud of my body, but I'm not going to go show it off completely. As far as string bikinis go, they're not for me. I feel more comfortable in modest two pieces (a halter style top and boy cut bottoms) or one pieces than I do in full on bikinis. But again, that's just me. So basically, if we took away all of society's standards, I'd most likely still dress the same. My "style" isn't very girly, it's more sporty and comfortable, but then again, that's how I am. I dress to look good and feel comfortable, and it makes me feel more confident.

I dress for myself. if i want to look nice and feel nice, i wear a dress or skirt or whatever - i love dressing up. but on the other hand - if i feel like being comfy i just wear my pyjamas to school. i probably wear sweats or pj's ,more often then i wear real clothes.
i don't think any of my clothes are designer - i shop at thrift stores mostly. my stuff is funky. that's the way i like it.

Comfort would be my number 1 priority, also. My wardrobe is basically just low-rise flares/boot cuts, sweatshirts, and t-shirts. I always wear sweatshirts and sometimes my boyfriend even teases me about it. Heh. Ah, well, I don't care. If I wanted to dress up, the clothes would still have to be equally comfy, otherwise I would refuse to wear it. On occasions I'll wear a jean skirt and a tank top with my flip-flop sandals in the summer. And I'm not one to wear skirts/dresses very often. Sometimes if I'm in mood to be really really comfy, yet lazy, I'll wear my pajamas and flip-flops to school. I've done it before, and I'll do it again. Then again, a lot of people at my school wear their pajamas to class. But that's another story. I like to look nice too, so just because it's comfortable doesn't mean I'm going to wear it. If it's comfortable, but I think it's ugly, then I won't wear it. If it looks good and it's comfy, then yes I'll wear it. On ocassions I like to feel more feminine than usual and I'll wear a gorgeous halter and some higher heels, or something. I dress to impress.....to impress myself that is. I dress according to my moods. Whatever I feel like that day...wild, crazy, lazy, feminine, tomboy-ish, funky...whatever!

You'd wear pajamas outside your house?! Wow I could never do that. Or sweats either. I spend way too much time getting ready to go anywhere. My clothes are more wild and feimine then anything. Always flashly. ;D

I wouldn't wear sweats out of the house. Just pajamas. And I only do it once in a while, not a lot. Don't get me wrong - I abslutely LOVE getting my make-up on and hair done and getting all dressed up. I like doing that too. There are many different sides to me.

I wear what ever is clean! It also depends on the weather. You can usually find me in jeans a big comfy sweatdirt or a tee-shirt. Nothing Special. My motto is I wear what I want becuase i like it and if you don't then f_ck you.

man i am way too lazy - i wore sweats practically EVERY DAY in the winter. and i'll wear my pyjamas anywhere.... even to work. i dress up a bit more now cuz i have a first period spare but really.... if i have to get up at 6 i am NOT getting dressed. what's the point? there's no one to impress.... my boyfriend will love me no matter what i look like..... but anyways, all that said, i prefer to dress nice. i'm just not willing to sacrifice sleep for looks.

Comfort is most certainly my main priority as well. Plain old blue jeans, big baggy t-shirts, and thick sweatshirts are the bulk of my wardrobe. Dressing up and looking "nice" is not much of a concern to me. Basically, I wear whatever is clean. I am not one for trends. In fact, if asked, I would never be able to tell you what is "in" or "out". I have no concern in the matter and no desire to know.
"I sometimes buy my stuff in the teen boys department" ~ LinkinPark_girl. So do I. In fact, some of my most favorite shirts have been bought in the men's section of Target. They really are quite comfortable. They are considerably larger and a bit more roomy than those found in the girl's section. Personally, I cannot stand tight, short tops or tiny, lowrise shorts. I have shirts that reach to my knees. And, call me crazy, but I have not worn shorts in over three years.
Tank tops and low-cut collars are out of the question for me. You would never find me in a dress upon my own will. As for bikinis, I'm sure you can guess what I feel on those. I just do not feel comfortable in such attire.
"Sexy", hm? What is this "sexy"? I laugh at the word. "Sexy" and me do not fit in the same sentence.
"How about those of you who are shy, does being shy have anything at all to do with your clothing choices?" Overall, no. In some cases, it may be a small factor. For instance, I do not feel comfortable in swim suits. I cannot stand being seen in one. It may be a bit of a shy-factor, I suppose. Otherwise, it is simply a comfort issue. Actually, those two may just go hand-in-hand.
Simply, I wear what I wear because I like the certain style I have, whatever that may be. I do not follow trends; I wear what I wish. I am looking to please no one. I do not wear what I do to set an image for myself. I wear whatever feels right to me.

I dress with what I have. And I like what I have, so it works. I would never be seen in a tube top or bikini. I wouldn't be able to pull it off, and I would feel less than uncomfortable. The same goes for tank tops and short shorts. Short shorts..... the bane of my existance. If they're that short, why wear them at all? I love capris that fall mid-calf. Because I dislike shorts, capris are my thing. I also love sandals. Plain old Birkenstocks (or the cheap imitations from Wal-Mart- it's all good). Skirts are awesome (below the knee, of course), I find they flow and give a certain grace to my step I can't live without my zip-up sweaters. I wear one every day. I feel naked without them.

i'm a girly skirt girl...i dress according to mood. when i feel crappy, getting dressed is IMPOSSIBLE. i try evrything on twice, and then say,"fuck it." and choose some thing from the pile on the floor. when i feel sexy and proud of my body, i wear things like my "swishy" skirt: "whoa man! we've gone back in time! is this 1964 or is your skirt just old?"--Gavin or my funky blue skirt : "i just saw the blue album, incarnate!"--alia or my heart-ass skirt: " this is one of my favorites!"--josh so.....yeah..... "do you own any pants?"---girl in french class i love clothes. if there were no norms, i might dress a little more revealing, but i i think i'd also go crazy with outfits that are insanely wacked. i've stopped making sense
