i know that this is a really weird question, but in some cultures and religions, there is a certain routine that people go through after they die. and if anyone interupts it, then some think that bad things can happen to them. but other religions, they don't really care as long as it's sanitary! what are your individual views on how you want to be buried? and what are your religions views on how you have to be buried?

in my religion (methodist) i don't have to be buried a certain way (at least i don't think i do). but i haven't really decided if i wanted to be cremated or buried under ground. but i'm sure i'll have lots of time to think about it!

As far as Christians go, there is nothing in the Bible that teaches any specific way to be buried. Some denominations may discourage cremation, but that should be a preferance. For me, being buried underground doesn't make any difference because my body is just a tent for my spirit to carry around for awhle before it wears out. It won't be ME that's been buried.
I beleive Muslims are to be buried facing North.

I don't really have a religion, but I do know that I want to be cremated... To me, your body is merely a shell. It's just a house for your spirit. To me, what's the point of having a casket that is so shut up tight that you don't really "rot away", first you turn into slime (not kidding you), which is just gross, not to mention that your dead body is just taking up space, especially when space is at a premium right now (the economist in me)... Ashes are the way to go, IMO. I want a third of me to be spread in the mountains, ocean, and forest. I can't decide, what can I say?

I don't have a religion but I want to be cremated. First of all, because I think ashes are a lot nicer than some rotten body or a skeleton... Second... I just don't like the thought of my body lying under the ground with all those other dead people around me. I'd rather have my ashes 'thrown' in some natural place like the ocean or something. That just feels more natural to me than being buried.

I want to be cremated because like Hey:Now:Girl said, it takes up less space, and it seems unnessesary to spend a lot more on a casket and all that other stuff.

hindus are cremated, and the ashes are not kept. all of them, are scattered into the nearest body of water, after the appropriate ceremonies. it is our way of returning the carbon we are made of back into the carbon cycle that will make us. i want to be cremated like that. *~pobo-imagines-being-a-carbon-atom

I want to be cremated. It just makes more sense, to me. I don't want to be pumped full of chemicals and then locked in a coffin when I die. I'd rather just be burned and sprinkled somewhere I like. I'll find that place later though. I don't think I'll be dying any time soon, as I'm only 14.

i'd like to be cremated because i don't want to waste space. but i don't really care. my spirit's gonna go be with God so they can do whatever they want with my body down here. my body's not me.

i'm Christian, and like everyone else said above, i don't think there is a certain wya i have to be buried. but, i would like to be buried beside my husband in a cemetary... i just like the idea of our physical bodies being together forever, even tho my soul and spirit are long gone from them. and i know from my own experience that it is comforting to be able to visit a grave, so it would be nice to leave that behind for my children.

Bury me, burn me, dump me in a ditch, rape my corpse for all I care. As long as I'm dead, I really don't care what happens to my body.

After I die, make it look like I died in a famous way; use my corpse to test out the Kennedy assassination.

I think I'd want to be cremated and then just poured out somewhere. I don't like the idea of my body sitting in a casket rotting away. Or being kept in a vase. Or whatever they put ashes in.
