Popularity was a big issue at Razzberry, and hopefully it won't be one here.
Popularity does not exist in large post numbers. I care more for what someone has to say, whether they have just five posts or five hundred. Sure, your post count grows, but there's no need to think you need an incredibly high number to be respected around the community, and vice versa - even if you do have the most number of posts, respect comes from what people perceive of your opinions.
Newbies often feel inferior compared with users who have been at these boards since the community, but if you want to know others better and likewise, hang out around Board Issues, or enter a debate. It's good to voice your opinion.
Don't think you're not respected because you feel unnoticed. There's bound to be someone who has noticed you.

Annie, that is a very good point. It's nice to see a nice thread around here. Content is better then a bunch of words thrown together.

Sorry to inform you but popularity already exists here. Newbies practically worship the regular users with the most posts. It's actually really funny since the ones with the most posts usually fluff or post some nonsense.
<<It's good to voice your opinion. >>
It might be good to voice your opinion but more often than not, people here attack you for it. God forbid you disagree with someone here.

Its called debate, something you are very good at, its part of the message board.

I'm all up for a good debate but what I meant in my comment is that if someone who had a high post count stated an unpopular opinion, they wouldn't really get attacked for it whereas if a user with a smaller post count stated that same opinion, they would most likely get bashed for it. Get my drift?

I guess I see what you are saying, although I will bash you if I disagree with you whether your post count is high or low.

It's also quite funny how many users on this board deny that popularity exists!

Geebus people, I've only been here for a couple days and I can ALREADY see the popularity and favoritism. Get a clue.

I really feel you guys. There is a lot of popularity and favoritism here...and sure, it sucks. Perhaps this is my egotistical side speaking, but I feel like you're referring to me (among others--I'm not saying you're singling me out) when you talk about users with high post numbers who have been here for awhile. I wanna apologize if I've been one of those people and I've made a newbie feel unwelcome or unpopular or un-anything. Really. Love, ~Mike

*wibble*
I said I was nobody loved me in the I Love You thread, are you annoyed by me? If you are I'll just have to make sad/pouty faces at you until you relent.
