I decided there should be a place for people to get help with their phobias. Phobias affect your life deeply and sometimes keep you from living life to it's fullest. Personally I suffer from Claustrophobia, meaning that I can't be in a small space without hyperventilating and sometimes passing out. Share your phobia pains and get advice here.

I'm claustrophobic too! Not as severe as *passing out* but I can't even watch when people shut themselves in lockers and stuff. I hate elevators, I would rather walk up the stairs! I don't know why it's so scary for me. I wish that I wasn't claustrophobic...

I'm afraid of heights sometimes... It's so weird, it's like when you're 'standing on something high' you feel like you're gonna jump off it... I told that to someone and then she said that was being afraid of heights, lol... I thought it was normal. And I think I might have a light form of claustrophobia... ~*Esther*~

I have light forms of claustrophobia, phobia of heights, and a much stronger phobia of water. I'm especially afraid of the ocean, and even pools when they're not well lighted. I'm also scared to go in water over my head. I do it, but I'm still scared.

I have a severe phobia of bugs. No, I'm not the average wimp-ish girl who finds it amusing to scream at the sight of an ant and pretend to be scared just to get attention... I literally almost lose conciousness whenever I see an insect. I cry, run, and do whatever I possibly can to get away from it. Even butterflies make me jumpy. There was once a moth in my living room, and I locked myself in the bathroom for two hours until I was sure my parents had killed it. There was this one time when there was a large wasp that had flown into the car, and when I saw it, I opened the door and ran... Oh yes, and the car was moving at the time.

Lisa, I'm sorry. Did you have a really bad experience with a bug when you were a kid?

Lisa: Did you watch that movie in health where there are bugs everywhere *shudders*. I'm terrified of bugs too. Not as scared as you are...but I can't STAND bugs! I *used* to like caterpillars (sp?) but once we were shucking corn, and I got all of the caterpillars and put them in a jar. One of them ate all the other ones and put himself in a cocoon-type thingy. It was maroon....and everytime I would poke him with a stick it would just wriggle and wriggle....I've had SO many bad dreams about that! Just picturing it *shudders* I guess I have a fear of worms/caterpillars, and weird little bugs that I've never seen before.
I also have a fear of being chlostrophobic, but no one knows, because inside I'm panicking, but I just try and stay still because the more I panic, the worse it's going to get. But still, I hate being in enclosed spaces.
one more thing. Heights. I cannot STAND being on heights. There's this building in my town, and on one side, there's the parking lot, which is about a floor down, but it's covered with windows, and everytime I even look out them, I have to move to the other side of the hall. It's just creepy.

I haven't had any bad experiences... not that I can remember anyway. It's just a fear that has always been there, and actually gotten worse as I've gotten older.
Fortunately, I've never seen that "bug" movie... I guarantee it would give me nightmares for weeks!

^^Hmm, that's interesting. I'm sorry. I used to want to watch that movie Arachnaphobia, but then decided not to, because I thought that would friek me out.

I've seen parts of Aracniphobia...*shudders*. I saw it when I was about 7, so I think that's part of the reason why I'm so freaking terrified of spiders.
darling: fortunately, I've never had an experience with cockroaches...ooh, but I remember something even worse that happened to me a while ago....We were out on a nice little country drive, my dad had his window open, the country air was coming through, and all of a sudden, something hits me on the forehead! I looked all around for a bug, but I couldn't see one. About 10 minutes later, I look down at my pants, and see a big, huge, cockroach-like thing CRAWLING UP MY LEG!!!! I started screaming, and told my brother to get the bug off of my freaking leg. He got it off, but I was so shocked, I started crying. Everyone else was laughing at me, and that didn't make it any better. Ugh, I had nightmares for a week after that.
